I had a real love/hate relationship with the series. Everybody pretty much knows what the flaws of it are, but there are some things I would like to see retained:

1) Eagles (of course) and the workhorse concept of them, with interchangeable modules.
2) First season command centre layout. Keep it open and less restricted than the bizarre change in set that happened for the second season.
3) First season opening credit music. Awesome.
4) Bright and clean, very 2001 Space Odyssey. I had enough "gritty" with the last Galactica series, let's brighten the sets up again.

The biggest flaw of the original series was the scripts themselves. Often straying into the metaphysical and sometimes magical, which was a turn off for me as a science fiction fan. For the reboot, if something bizarre happens, please give us a line that indicates there is a good explanation for it.

Can Siri do anything without an internet connection? Waiting for my 4S, and was wondering if Siri would be useful at all while travelling and my data connection is turned off. Can she still add items to my calendar, reminders, play my music, etc?
For those that want to keep their butter a bit fresher outside the fridge, I highly recommend the use of a French Butter Bell.

I miss Eli Stone. A much quirkier and more fun to watch show based on a slightly different premise. That being said, I found A Gifted Man more watchable than the article writer thinks it is.
The link is sparse for why this is true. What is the science behind this black magic?
I'm surprised Samsung didn't use the PADD from Star Trek TNG instead. It is a far more 'tablet' style device, used for pretty much everything. The acronym stands for Personal Access Display Device.

And the article pic is of a front loading washer. Leave the lid open on that? What? The source article at least doesn't give that false impression.

And why wouldn't I use a bowl in the sink instead of the entire sink?

Is this one of the more inane tips to ever appear on lifehacker?
Do you also make your own electricity at home? 300 degrees for an hour just to heat up 2 caps of vanilla extract seems a bit wasteful and expensive.

How about doing the same thing in one of the essential oil contraptions that use a tea-candle, or a small pot on a burner?
Both Ottawa and Toronto airports have free WiFi. Thanks for your US centric worldview. BTW, those cities are in Ontario, Canada, that big mass to your north.
I don't think the C128 was really a failed computer. About 4 million where sold in total.

The only real disappointment was that since it was so compatible with the C64 that nobody really offered any games and programs that took advantage of the extra features of the machine.

I had a C128 back in the day and loved the hell out of it. Now I have a C128D (Base unit with built in floppy, separate keyboard) in my vintage computer collection.
Actually, if you read the article, the gun tubes are being used as rockets, not actual guns.

This type of thing has been in use on a number of aircraft. For example, Hercules aircraft used by military around the world use rocket assist if they need to get moving fast in order to use shorter runways. These aircraft are typically loaded down with heavy payload.
Ugly bags of mostly water.
And for those close to Ottawa (Canada).....

Trek VI - Guess who's coming to dinner?
PLEASE, NO! I love Star Trek, I love Wrath of Khan. Let the original series have it's gems. For this new crew, I want to see new stories and new directions. Let some unknown offscreen ship handle the upcoming events like Vger and the whale probe. This new crew needs to stand on their own with the occasional nod to the fans.
Here in Ottawa, we are seeing the addition of Bed Bath and Beyond, seemingly taking advantage of a bit of a gap left by LnT.

My only issue with LnT was the "regular" price. I never bought anything there without one of the 20% off coupons. Perhaps if the entire product line was priced within reason they would have had more customers.

Be wary of the terms "natural" and "artificial" flavour.

Many flavours in food products are added as a specific chemical that reproduces the "high note" of a taste. For example, the chemical that gives banana flavour it's distinctive taste can be either derived from a natural source via processing or created from scratch. By deriving it from a natural source it is deemed a natural flavour. If it was cooked up in a lab it is an artificial flavour, even if both are chemically the same thing. In fact, there are cases where the "natural" flavour is worse since it may also contain unwanted byproducts of the processing.

Ideally, if you want a pure product, you would see it without the words natural or artificial flavouring in the ingredient list.

Two minor points to my commentary: 1 - I don't care myself that much where the flavour comes from, just wanted to put some light on this, and 2 - yes, we Canadians spell flavour like colour and neighbour.
