I'm still watching Jurassic Stargate: 90210, cause it has more dinosaurs and rayguns, than any other primetime show. Watching the plots unfold, a mile away, is getting old.
Ah, the summer of '82. I was there, working the show in the Summit. Helped design the show's program books and t-shirts. I only got to check out the convention's dealer's room, real fast.
So many factors drove the convention and show into the ground. The fans/crew/producers/cast pulled together, to keep it going. Certainly did a number on fandom in Houston and beyond.
My mother had Alzheimer's, as did her mother. I fought to make sure it really was the disease, rather than one of a whole spectrum of dementias. Getting the wrong meds can really mess up a person. Heck, even the "right" meds can mess one up.
Just watched the pilot episode. Seems like a cross between "War of The Worlds"(2005) and "Walking Dead". The characters and tropes seem pretty predictable. Not caring so far, except that it has aliens and spaceships.
We have been playing a small campaign with three kids and two adults. All the kids are 8yrs old, and this is their first D&D (3.5) gaming experience, apart from some video games. It has taken some time for them to get the hang of role playing, instead of video game hacking and puzzle solving. There have been times where they loose focus and get rowdy. There was a suggestion of giving them a "time out", but that would take them out of the game and slow everybody down. Not only that, but they never respond well to that sort of "punishment". As DM, I decided to ding them a hit point, so there was in-game consequence to their actions. Wow, then is was important to them.
We also implemented a "talking stick", so that everybody didn't talk at once.
They are getting the hang of it, and seem to enjoy the tabletop game experience.
I'd move Total Recall down the list. The first 15 minutes of the movie are from the short story, the rest is made up and works too hard at being a PKD story. Fun, but not where you've rated it.
I'd pay them money right now, not even knowing what it would be about. Rather do that, than shell out for the vast wasteland of crap entertainment, that has been crafted for the masses.
