are there programs that just run automatic "cutesy replies" in comments sections now? wtf.
these are really fun, but adding monsters to found art was kinda trendy a few years back. and that sort of thing dates wayyyyyy back before then too! still, I'd rather see this than JUST the boring landscape art.
@DarkStarSpace: typical of anyone going to see a Hollywood film.
@Spaceboy: it's a remake. romero's not making this one; he made the original in the 70s. which, really, while having it's moments, wasn't his best.
@Gaucho85: exactly. I'm still enjoying Lost, despite it clearly showing signs of wear... but, as for his films: I agree completely. at best, they're great in the moment, but they fade from your memory seconds after they end, like all other current hollywood films.
@Martin Todd: exactly. it might be long hours pushing pixels to make some CG SF battle... but in the end, you know it was done by funny little geeks drinking lattes into the night. the hands-on craft of making effects sequences, done by vision-possessed hippies in the 60s & 70s, is sorely missed! It was such fun looking over those spaceships and seeing household items glued on! THAT made repeat viewings wayyyy more fun!
Lego + movie tie-ins/established culture icons = loss of imagination. sorry, but what WAS the great thing about Legos was that you could build anything out of a pile of bricks. NOW you pay extra for the movie name or whatnot and it's super hard to find just a box of random bricks. Whither creativity and imagination in the children!
@Valkyrie Ice: "Indefinate life extension is not a fantasy, not a sci-fi dream. It is a real, and achievable goal. It is being created right now. The more funding it gets, the sooner it will become a daily fact of life" lol. daily fact of life for the wealthy. and most likely for the americans and europeans ONLY. like some cronenberg film, when this happens, I hope there is active resistance that stops you.
wow, people just can't get a grip on death, eh? so in twenty years, we'll have surgically altered, immortal RICH PEOPLE? and the rest of us will be toiling at the factories and DYING. wot a future!
@Makidian: Makidan, sorry to pop your bubble, but the phrase "I am not a star trek fan" used not only in this thread, but on a SF blog is a desperate cry for help. It's Denial with a capital D. trust me, I used to deny it myself...you can't be free until you embrace your inner Trekkie! be FREE!
really, why can't they just take the reboot, and f'n run with it? take it to places that no one would expect!! why keep returning to the past TV universe, when they have already "rebooted" in an alternate universe? time for new ideas! but, this is hollywood: land of remakes and sequels. check your original ideas at the door please.
@aubreyf: exactly. one more reason this movie blew! lol! really, that musical moment took me out of the fantasy world and reminded me that I was watching a hollywood movie. FAIL.
oh man, that's lame.
@ShantiAtymnius: I dunno, as a photoshop "expert" myself, I'm going to say it looks plausible. the suit looks like a rushjob (this is a test remember) that might be made out of ill-fitting and stiff material (thus causing a very awkward pose here).
seems like a lot of the concept art is about shops and selling trinkets, etc. why pay the huge entrance fee to just go shopping?
@twophrasebark: best idea yet! might actually solve other social issues too! can move forward when you're weighed down so much, eh?
wow. you forgot the village in Zardoz!! wtf?
wait, they made Caprica? I honestly thought it was some hoax after that last BSG finale... and Patton is on it? should I possibly consider watching this now?
