My thoughts exactly. There are tons of photoshop tutes on the web, and the limited gimp tutorials I've seen have been of varying quality. I'd love to see an in-depth look at how gimp works, if for no other reason than to make people aware that it is a pretty solid program-despite the propaganda.
As of right now, you can't really stream netflix on a linux computer. It relies heavily on the DRM aspects of Microsoft Silverlight, and the linux equivalent doesn't support DRM. That said, some of the set-top streaming devices (like Roku) do run on linux, but they have drm built into the hardware, if I understand correctly.
I think, once you've run puppy for a while, the ubuntu-like distros will seem sluggish and bloated to you. At least, that's the case for me. Sure, ubuntu is more popular and more polished, but puppy is a tight little lightweight distro. #openthread
The one thing keeping me from going full-time puppy linux on my home computer is a lack of netflix streaming ability. Not really puppy's fault, but it's still aggravating. #openthread
Any advice on mattress shopping? I need a full-sized mattress and I'm looking to spend around $500 to $600--it's been so long since I bought a mattress that the prospect is a little overwhelming. #openthread
I don't know if it's because of my browser (opera 11) or not, but I don't have a "blog view" button. edit: Oh wait, there it is--on the header. Why isn't it on the right sidebar with the "home" button?
I hated the new layout on io9 when it was rolled out. Can't say I've warmed up to it since. I have noticed a marked decrease in my desire to visit and attempt to navigate that site since the change, and now I fear the same will be true for my beloved lifehacker and for gizmodo. It's a shame really, because, from a user standpoint, nothing was broken. I don't understand why you "fixed" it. The whole layout is awkward and overcomplicated.

For a site that touts the "keep it simple" mantra so much, I'm very dissapointed.
I would drop a c-note on one of these things today if it was available, and if it worked as advertised. That thing is beautiful, and it's just the middleman I need for my note-taking and organization needs. I'm having trouble believing it, though. Considering how long a kindle takes to refresh pages, I can't imagine this thing would be super responsive, but I guess I'll have to wait and see. I can totally see this being useful in a school setting, too.
Or check out the cookie aisle at your local Dollar General Store. They've got knock-offs for around $2 a box. They're great. Then make a donation directly to your local scout troop, if you want to support them.
