Perfection.
@wynniepiglet: Yeah, that's how I felt. Till I realized the next step is passing a law limiting a woman's right to choose. The vote was disgustingly in favor of the amendment. And, I mean, hell, if they can add it to another bill, it'll essentially pass the House, right? I guess it just scares me. #epicfail
I don't actually know if I can get behind a health care plan that refuses to acknowledge my Supreme Court-given right to choose. #epicfail
Gawd, I hope there are no "WHY ARE OUR LITTLE GIRLS SO OUT OF CONTROL?" editorials to come out of this, but that's just terribly surreal wishing. What's annoying about Lambert is that she's no different from any female soccer player over the age of 14, regardless of what Julie Foudy seems to be so enraged about in the prior SportsCenter clip. Honestly, I think the worst part is the officiating. What happened to the refs? Tackling the player from behind should have taken Lambert off the field earlier, instead the ref turns a blind eye to that and gives her a yellow for a calculated stab at the ball/player? When he pulled that card, did he ... I don't know, decide that once he pulled out the wrong color he couldn't change his mind? I love playing soccer, but girls are vicious and ruthless and without better officials on the field, these types of incidents will never go away. So pull out the video cameras, boys, if that's what you like. There's plenty more where this came from at any female football game and there will most likely continue to be. Lambert's retaliations and subsequent apology won't change that, but maybe it'll help bring better refs out for college games. #soccer
Wow. I can't believe Elizabeth Lambert wasn't thrown off the field and out of the game sooner. Not necessarily for What she did, but for the officiating that must have turned huge blind eyes to the game at hand to miss such blatant fouls. Players talk, ESPECIALLY women. And as a referee, you can tell the exaggerations from the truth. So what happened here?!? Alright, I admit, at first I was scared the world was headed on a terror against girls who play hard. But that girl did Not head out on to the pitch against BYU without some prior hair-pulling, come-from-behind-tackling and cleating experience. Lambert knew exactly what she was doing, and she's only apologetic she got caught. All she did was retaliate, and, sure, it was a little more than what the opponent dished out, but that's what retaliation's all about. Lambert was continually trying to get the upper hand, or even force her opponent into exacting her own vengeance, then get caught by the ref. Instead, she got caught. It's a risk you take, and it sucks for her. So I suppose I'm actually a little sad for her that she got suspended, because those BYU girls weren't saints either, but how many of them will be suspended for their own unsporting behavior? #forthoodmassacre
I actually enjoy the first two. They're hilarious and awk and funny and intriguing. Why yes, I do have a morbid fascination with death and crime scenes, how funny you should ask. Also, I really like the K-Fed slasher pic for the laugh factor. #deadmodels
I got a little nostalgic when I saw that Oprah's reign on daytime television might by coming to a close in the coming years. After this interview, I wonder if it isn't for the best. The woman couldn't figure out by the third yes-no question not to ask them and seemingly refused to ask follow-up questions. Her timing with the social skills question was atrocious and although she May have had a valid reason for asking it, such as discussing bullies and public schools, it was icky. I've never seen her special, but now that I'm firmly on Team Shiloh I will be hunting it down.
@Allen_Richards: Ok, now compare those already beautiful women with the sheer volume of us who would look tragic if you decided to shear off every woman's hair. How bout she's MY favorite shaved head heroine? :)
Dyeing the bottom inch of her hair black.
@Dirk Anger: Oh good, I thought the theater I saw it in was simply terribly terribly loud and I always wondered wtf happened. Happy to know it wasn't just me.
@Michael_GR: Star Trek ... well, I have too much love in my heart for all things Trek to bash the movie that has essentially resurrected the franchise. So ... "when in Rome" on that front, cool?
@No cool name here... Move along: Please don't misconstrue my sadness at Bourne shaky action sequences for a lament on the films themselves. I definitely enjoyed the films, especially as adaptations of the books, I simply would have liked to have seen and enjoyed the action sequences mas. No problems with Bourne as a whole however :)
@Uncommon Whore: @aviary: THANK YOU! No one I've spoken to can tell me anything about IUD insertion save going to a doctor. More please! @Bgirl_Hamster: Same here :) I love Jez for it's honesty more than anything else.
@Gary_7vn: Microwaves are for advance human beings. Cheap coffee makers (which I got for about $15) are for poor college kids :D So yay for MacGyver-ing dinner!
@TheCrudMan: best. comment. ever. And I really hope they are.
I feel the Borg would have been much more succinct if they'd gone with simply "Roselite." Though obviously not nearly as quotable.
I'm sure I'm finding this more scary than it actually is because I'm watching Outbreak on tv right meow. Little bit of yikes.
@TaitGalunga: Uhm, actually it's mine now. It's freaking adorable and I wore it at work yesterday :)
@themidnighter: Quips about my hopes for "murder" aside, since no one good save Dumbledore dies on the page, I will not budge on my wish for a funeral. Especially with the changes instituted by Yates, I agree with you, it could not have been filmed as written. I'm not even saying it should have transpired exactly as Rowling wrote, I'm merely saying that a big reason why so many people are letdown by the film is because of the lack of closure. However, at this point, I'm prepared to say that even a quick glimpse of the white tomb and funeral would have sufficed for me. Also, it probably would have led to a less awkward jump to Harry and Hermione's talk at the end, providing a perfect segue into it and even the final films. The fact that you refer to the wand raising as shorthand is also what makes me so sad for the film. For the death of Dumbledore, there should have been no shorthand.
