<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Shrooms Change Your Life for the Better]]> @braak: Hell man, I haven't even managed to expect higher powers. ;)

@goldfarb: I'll check that out. Thanks for the linkage.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Shrooms Change Your Life for the Better]]> I think it's funny that a chemically induced state is linked to spirituality. Viewing hallucinations as a spiritual experience? Kinda makes my brain hurt. But hey, I've never tried shrooms (though I've always wanted to) so maybe I'm missing the boat on how the higher powers intended folks to interact with them. ;)

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Google is NOT Making us STUPID]]> @CMG: Me too. I haven't noticed a change in my offline reading habits at all. This despite my growing dependence on my RSS subscriptions and their snippet-esque presentation of information while I'm online.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Post-Traumatic Stress Makes Hulks Out Of All Of Us]]> @tetracycloide:

"... Batman Begins, Iron Man, Spider-Man 1 or 2, or the first two X-Men movies."

Thing is, those are some of my favorite movies period. I've seen Batman Begins, Spiderman 1 and 2, and X-Men 1 dozens of times. I don't expect ANY movie to be that enjoyable for me and I'm glad when I'm surprised (Ironman which I actually like more than any of those except for maybe Batman Begins). So thank you very much Charlie for using those as a comparison. I know pretty much exactly what to expect now in terms of enjoyability. :)

In short, sweet terms... kickass review!

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on What's Up With the Mysterious Denver UFO Video?]]> It's just good business to show it to as few people as possible at a time to prolong your exposure. I mean... you don't really believe this is anything remotely close to proof... right?

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Killer Sex Bot Meets Girl In Killdroid Trailer]]> Universal Soldier... now with even less plot, but more sex!

Meh. Maybe when (if) it hits TV.

One thing I do like though? More naked dudes. I feel bad for my man-loving friends that they are forced to sit through all the hot naked women with no sex objects of their own to help get through cheesy scenes. ;)

Obviously there are a TON of factors that could be moving these statistics. Still an interesting find though, so thanks for that Annalee.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Get Vista's Best Features in XP]]> @MrBlahBlah: Agreed. In all honesty, if you want all this stuff? Just run Vista. By the time you get done adding all this to XP, I would be shocked if it wasn't more resource hungry than Vista is in it's default state.

Nice thing about this stuff is that you can pick and choose though. For instance, the Breadcrumb nav is nice, as is the improved launch functionality. So just grab both of those and leave all the extra noise behind.

@zeusthrax: Symlinks are available in XP. Check it here: [shell-shocked.org]

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on How Wil Wheaton Gets Things Done]]> Wil seems like a cool guy. I spoke with him briefly at PAX last year where he gave the keynote speech. I highly recommend checking it out if you're a fan of Wil, and even more so if you're a gamer.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on What Apps Should You Never Install?]]> @downstairs: If you like standalone compression software, take a look at 7-zip. It's free, and more powerful than WinZip with most (if not all) the same benefits.

By the way, what constitutes a "sketchy" codec pack? Because any machine I'm going to view media on gets the CCCP treatment almost immediately.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Discover What Makes Tony Stark Tick In Iron Man]]> @jbq: Ah... gotcha. Thanks for catching me up. Didn't realize they were going for a different feel. And I agree, call it whatever... as long as it's Indy, I'm on board. :)

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Hey Hey They're The (Marvel) Monkeys]]> I'm really not sure WHAT to make of this. I could see one or two comics about it being amusing for a bit, but the schtick would wear thin pretty quickly I'd imagine. Once you get past the chuckles at Spider-Monkey, Iron Ape, Captain Silverback, etc. a lot of the luster is gone.

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Discover What Makes Tony Stark Tick In Iron Man]]> @Log1c: Sure, the story underpinnings are supernatural, but the meat of the series has always felt adventure-like to me. Just my take. :) I admit I'm not versed in what a genre is truly defined by though (i.e. plot versus presentation).

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Biggest, Purest, Zoomiest Hit Of Speed Racer Crack Yet]]> The visual style of this film makes it worth seeing just for that alone. Though "hyper-crack-monkey" does seem like an apt description. :)

@Macloserboy: I hear you mate. Makes me want to play Twisted Metal again. Though even more than that it brings back memories from 2 decades ago of the old Steve Jackson tabletop game, Car Wars.

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Discover What Makes Tony Stark Tick In Iron Man]]> @DSTRYA: I've been curious why people are referring to the latest Indy as "sci-fi instead of fantasy" as well. Just including aliens somewhere (as background or not) != sci-fi in my book. Though, truth be told, I'd consider the Indy movies to be "adventure" genre movies, like The Mummy or King's Solomon's Mines more than anything anyway.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Spaceman Made of Coathangers]]> @icelight: Finally... someone else went there before I did.

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Starship Dogfights and Galactic Rebellion for the Cheap-Ass Gamer]]> @steven522: Fair enough. I rarely spend more than an hour or so in any given game anymore myself. Hence the reason I stopped playing WoW years ago. I manage to get in a couple movies (at home) a week, so obviously I'm capable of giving up at least a 2 hour block, but I can do so much more while I'm watching something (eat, fold clothes, feed kid, talk to friends) than I can while playing.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Take That, Existential Zombie Gutter Slut!]]> Zombies... check. Gov't conspiracies... check. Boobies... check. Philosophy.... check. Gore... che... wait, wait, wait! Philosophy?!

Weird. Not sure I can resist at least checking it out though. Kind of like passing by a train wreck. The power of zombie breasts compels you... or, something.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Things You Don't Know About Modern Elevators]]> @ideaman2020: Don't feel bad... ]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on ThunderCats Were Loose On Palace of Westminster]]> @zenpoet: I remember being shocked at Transformers too. Watched it again the other day in a fit of nostalgia (mostly brought on by some drinking, I admit). Not anywhere near as good as I remember, though the Universal greeting of "Bah weep granah weep ninni bong" is still good for a laugh. :)

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Light-in-Fog Computer Simulation Is Ultra Realistic and Cheap]]> @Jeff-Minor: That was my first thought exactly!

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Starship Dogfights and Galactic Rebellion for the Cheap-Ass Gamer]]> @steven522: Personally? I consider doing what you like to do "living life". For some folks, maybe that's climbing a mountain. For others, reaching level 60 in an MMORPG. Sorry, but I see a lot of "get a life" type comments from folks when speaking about games and generally there is an air of superiority displayed that is irksome to me. If I misunderstood, I apologize in advance.

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Pope Refuses To Bless Technology]]> @Mathmos: Agreed. When taken in context of the article, it didn't seem like it at all really. At least in my interpretation.

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Medic! Hands On With The New TF2 Map Plus New Medic Achievements And Weapons Revealed]]> If you're OCD, a lot of these achievements will take a few friends and 30 minutes on a self made server.

The new syringe gun is incredibly easy to unlock. The crit medigun is fairly easily achievable in short order (though I can't see using it much myself) especially with a batch of folks determined to help each other. The Ubersaw... now that one will actually be a bit of an achievement since no matter how you slice it... 10 million healing points is gonna take a while. :)

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Now You Can Own Two Bakers And Another Doctor]]> Bah... silly comment board eating then regurgitating posts... *grumble*

]]>
<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Now You Can Own Two Bakers And Another Doctor]]> Wow... great detail in those figures! However, I have to agree. As much as I identify Tom Baker's Doctor with the sci-fi influences of my youth... that "I'm on a pyschotic jelly baby trip!" style grin is spooky.

Having a couple Daleks on my desk at work to start conversations would be excellent though. Hmm. *heads off to do some Google searching*

<![CDATA[What is a man? commented on Now You Can Own Two Bakers And Another Doctor]]> Wow... the detail on those is great, but I have to agree. As much as I identify Tom Baker's Doctor with the sci-fi of my youth, I'm not sure I could take that "I'm on a psychotic jelly baby high!" grin.

I'd love to have a Dalek or two around my office desk to start conversations though. Hmmm. *heads off to do some Google searching*
