I think it's a bit early to include Avatar in any "20 best movie moments". In fact, I think it should never be included in such a category. Except perhaps 3D CGI prowess.
Every year, Smallville's producers promise Clark will finally embrace his leadership responsibilities. They've been feeding us the same BS since season 2. Now Martha Kent is dating Perry White? In what kind of alternate universe, does this Superman lives? Is this the other Superman from Fringe's alternate universe we've been looking at all this time?
Well, I'll start by fighting off global illiteracy by telling you that you're missing a verb in your very first sentence.
How did we go from Lake Placid to Lake Placid 3? I guess there's a 2 swimming somewhere. Probably a "direct to DVD in the 50%-Off bin by the store's register"

Can someone explain to me the fascination behind Box Office records?
It's definitely not synonymous with great movie, that's for sure. It's more an indication of the quality and success of the marketing strategies before the movie's release. It's the equivalent for Movie studios of comparing penis sizes, if you will.
It's pointless really to check those records which seem to be broken each year anyway. And it makes sense with high inflation and tickets prices increasing that those records be pulverized from one year to the next.
In 2020, an average box office weekend gross for a blockbuster will be calculated in billions...
@fyngyrz: Interesting comparaison. But the perpetrator still gets off, right?
True "spoilers" worthy of the title are becoming a rare commodity. What is now considered "spoilers" are usually a very vague piece of information which leaves more questions than give real concrete answers. Usually their sources are in fact the studio producing the show/movie strategically leaking this so-called spoiler to generate buzz.
How many times have we heard: Spoiler alert, death will strike in this season finale!
Or "casting call: looking for brunette in her twenties with big boobs"
Your star trek spoilers for example are anything but spoilers and could be summed up by: writers have no clue what to do next just yet.
Nevertheless, sometimes a true spoiler comes out. The original ending of T4 for instance.
But that's pretty much the exemption that confirms the rule: Spoilers are rare.
