communism was just a red herring.
@Colin.Gagnon: I know. I feel like I'M HAVING A HEART ATTACK.
@Meldrick:

Something grabbed a hold of my hand
I didn't know what had my hand
But that's when all my troubles began
@Burke: if it's about rose then there's no need to be sorry. sometimes i wish she'd eaten the time vortex and then 9 just let it eat her.

i forgot john barrowman used to be skinny
@luckyplatypus: Say it with me: DONNA! DONNA! DONNA!

Donna also has a lot of love/haters. I don't know if I see as much hate for Martha, poor girl. Donna was a sister, a "best friend", which I think is what the doctor wants in a companion. That being said, I think 10 labeled relationships a lot, and I'm not sure 11 is willing to do that anymore. I think that's why he's glad to have Rory around.

@susie-bird: I am with you on the Rose/Amy similarities. Same age - going nowhere with life/job - willing to put down/drop boyfriend in the blink of an eye/even Rose and Amy being the first human seen after transformation (I suspect this b/c Eccleston does a double-take in a mirror during "Rose).

Someone above said Donna was their least favorite - I think she's my very favorite. However, I am definitely Team Pond, and that has to do with Rory much more than Amy. I hope that Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill's friendship keeps Rory with us for a long while.

@Reavyn: Is it because you liked the love story arc? Or was it just because Donna was loud?

Also - is it actor related or character related? And are you British?

(jesus - what the hell is wrong with me asking so many questions? god, i'm even at it parenthically)

@NaraDance: amen and amen.

ever? or did you grow into this? @Serge. above talk about liking her and then disliking her and then character redemption in "Doomsday". Your thoughts?

#observationdeck
@Serge.: smug - super good word to describe her. but we part there - i think that behavior is in full force long before she and 10 frolic around in pomposity (TnC a great example of this). however, my take on this must be wrong b/c rose's purpose in series one is to help tame the doctor's rage. damnit, now i'm going to have to watch the entire series, just to be sure. oh well...

note: i also see this a lot with amy and the doctor, and it almost turned rory into mickey. very glad this didn't happen.

@Ursus-Veritas:

Martha had potential, but she fell right down the rabbit-hole, too. i was really hoping for her revivial on torchwood, b/c Martha sans moping-for-doctor mode is pretty neat. and i don't think jack would have moved in on her after tinkerbell doctor events (but it's jack - i could be wrong!)

for the record, i'm far more Rory than Amy, but since Amy is at her best when she's with Rory (thank you, amy's choice) I'm team Pond

#observationdeck
@susie-bird: isn't it great where we live in a world where we can freely mention rose's name and know there are other fans around? wait - i'm the one who started this and i can't stand her.

my struggle with rose is her expectation of something from the doctor. i might even call american brashness, cause i think that behavior is far more like us than any of my brit friends. you're gonna tell me, because i'm rose. she bosses the universe that she's at the center of, the doctor reminds her how small he is, and then he falls for it, too.

also, the accent. billie piper, why do that to yourself?!

#observationdeck
@Eridani: absolutely - her fan/anti-fan base is quite polarized, more so than the donna/anti-donnas.

#observationdeck
@ophmarketing: But it's okay, we always have the innertubes to save us from having to wait until 9 at night to watch.
Who still doesn't miss Rose Tyler? Rewatched a few minutes of "Rose" and then most of "Doomsday" just to be sure. That character grates my patience. Long live the Ponds! Promote Rory to full time companion status!

@ophmarketing: Alas, it airs at 9p on bbca, long into boxing day and post BBC viewing.
@TheDarkWayne: yes - from an old show that he loved.
@DataScream: yes - every time he drops a firefly reference i wonder where online someone has a full write-up of them.
i'd love a compendium of Castle's Firefly references. after a brief lmgtfy search i haven't found an actual listing. is there one out there?
