Thats the only daybreakers clip Ive seen, but it has totally sold me on it. The concept that they don't think anything of the fact that their vampires who drink human blood because that is the reality the live in is brilliant. Ive had that very conversation with non vegetarians who disagree with me on my point that I dont hunt animals so I dont eat them. Strange to see it in a sci-fi movie.
I think Beastly looks cool, he has loads of superpowers, right? This makes me realise I should be proud of the fact that I managed to survive an entire year in Brooklyn without succoming to the druggies and their pesky daughters. Go Me. If the scenario for The Exam actually occurred, all you would get is 8 papers with essays about the meaning of life on them, titled something like "How not asking any question is actually asking the most important question of all". You know, without all the man slaughter, murder, attempted suicide, etc.
I never got this. From my reading of the book, it was heavily implied that it was Lyndsy who committed the murder. She was watching the scene, as he stalked the waitress, and had correctly deduced that that waitress was in danger. So she melted the icicle over him, to kill him - as per her earlier conversation in the camp. To run him off a cliff in the film, robs the book of its best scene. The incidentalnes of George Harvey, to sufffer such a undramatic death, to the fact that if you agree with me, it was Lindsey protecting the waitress. Either way, I think throwing him off a cliff, or the new more violent death, is far too dramatic. Sure, he pays for his crime spectacullarily, but thats not the completeness the book offered. It gave a more realistic unfulfilling death. I remember I was just happy he paid somehow for his crime.
man that guy is unoriginal. Sickingly unoriginal. He has basically taken both of Max Brooks ideas, and just replaced the zombies with robots. This is the same as that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It was good the first time, then suddenly there were 7 or 8 similar books. #robopocalypse
The second two mad max's combined werent half the film the first one was. (my opinion). I remember once the director said mad max II was how mad max would have looked if he had the budget, but the reason the first one was so good, and successful, was because it looked kinda like the current world at the start of an apocalypse. You would watch it and be like "Yea, I can see that happening". This third one will be about as good as mad max III I think. Just OK. #madmax
@braak, totally, I always pictured the minds with shakespearean accents. I remember the first M Banks book I read was excession(thanks io9 for the recommendation). The first chapter of that book, with the robot, and jumping straight into the action was brilliant. Anyway short story long, I specifically remember thinking, this is totally unfilmable. #agiftfromtheculture
Those character looks rife for Hellboy 3, or just a standard Guillermo del Toro movie #juhaarvidhelminen
I think Torchwood is heading for a new tone. The first episode started off like the Doctor Who feel, with everyone knowing the business of tourchwood etc., even the odd reference "everyone needs a doctor" and some humorous scenes.

Then it was metaphorically and literally shot in the back towards the end of episode one, from that point it has been more mature and geared towards an adult audience. Some of the scenes I'd expect to read in graphic novels than watching on TV. Great stuff, I hope they keep up this pace for the season.

@xenakis333:
hah? Kevin McKidd was up for this? aka Lucius f'ing Vorenus. I was just a bit meh at the above announcement, now Im peeved off.
Is it just me, but when they made crappy superhero movies for 10 a penny, the things got made, and watched by nerds, who somewhat enjoyed them.

Dont get me wrong, I loved the new quality batman movie, but if I hear another, will they wont they Justice League crap....

hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.

I was always wondering what the cover of Iain M Banks book, the Algerbeist was all about. Its a bunch of Aliens that live on Gas giants. Great book btw, Gas Giants Aliens are as you would expect, weird. Now I know, great stuff.
