It's a good thing I pretty much watch zero Fox shows now. None of their shows I actually even try to follow. Maybe try to catch an episode of The Simpsons but that's it. Other networks like USA have much more appealing shows.
If I can catch it on TV the first time, why can't I just view it online later on ANY provider? Also, why must they distinguish users watching it online any different from those watching it on TV? We see pretty much the same amount of ads, right? Or is it because there's some arbitrary rule that live streaming TV must get paid the best spots, while online it's considered junk status, despite many people catching up shows online, or skipping ads through DVRs on live TV?
Plus, why pay for Hulu Plus if you still see ads, don't own a smartphone/tablet, and don't care so much to see any of their older content?
@Orion126: Whatever. You can't prove iPad is the #1 tablet for increasing wine sales, unless you do a study that looks at EVERY single restaurant that sells wine and shows it on a tablet of some sort. That NYT post did nothing of the sort.
It's amazing how ignorant people are of how real science works. It's all about being a fanboy of something, over the cold hard facts.
As to the possibility of the Obama debacle, that could just be the result of poor picking of location or people, as well as the possibility that there are that many people that dislike the president enough to purposely pretend they think that either of those false statements are true, to get others to dislike the president.
Plus if you're saying if U.S. people are uninformed, then why would they have voted in Obama if they are "very susceptible to people like Rush Limbaugh"? Or you could be grouping Obama as well with that.
@Orion126: Maybe if someone put an apps out there for Windows tablets for browsing wines, and/or restaurants actually implemented the system, then there'd probably be increased wine sales too.
I'm sure if there were a proper study between using a PC tablet v iPad v neither, and not just some whimsy NYT post that likes to point out how Apple product make a 'difference', then you'd see that other tablets could probably sell a lot more wine too. I don't think it's an iPad only phenomenon that the article makes it seem to be.
Again, I'm not discrediting the iPad for making any strides in better tablets, but that the iPad isn't the only tablet that could do this and do this well either.
After all, asking random people at this one location in the U.S. is the most accurate representation of the U.S. population. Especially with a TV show known for pushing out comedy over reality, because it's not like it's possible they could've interviewed smart people or people that remembered and just cut those out.
Seriously, all this anti-American behavior from those outside the U.S. is so rude. Yeah, there are ignorant people in the U.S., it's not like there aren't outside the U.S..
@Dinosaur!: There's like so many tablets in the market. There's the Archos 9, Asus, Lenovo etc. HP's are more popular I think. I hope you're not serious as to wondering what other tablets are out there.
A simple Amazon or Bing search would yield some clues...
@dallasmay: Eh, our rail lines are expanding (as DART isn't, from what I heard) and our rail lines don't stop at red lights. Red lights stop other cars so there's a smooth path for MetroRail.
