What's this guys name? Lars is that you? It's not good to laugh at Wal-Mart shoppers. Lars may find that he can't afford to shop at such an upscale place. Greed killed the music business now it's the Big Publishers turn. Who suffers? The authors and reader do.
I think the biggest thing that Avatar has going for it is it's progressive vision of reality of nature's battle against the evil corporation. Hollowood elites can't get enough of it.
@OlavRokne: I think you are right about cable. The big networks think they can only compete by playing to the lowest common denominator (Just look at NBCs schedule). As a result, anything that even hints at quality or depth doesn't have a chance. FX has quite a few shows that are worth watching and Joss will find that they want Whedon's audience and will let the show speak for itself.
This fits in with what the Chicago Tribune said V was all about, [www.chicagotribune.com] . It also fits with yesterdays article on io9 that V wasn't about aliens at all, [io9.com] . It's amazing when great minds come to the same conclusion. #v
I don't know if this is the place, but I watched episode 13 of Defying Gravity last weekend. It got better and better every show after ABC canceled it and turned in a a very good series. I'm just happy that it continued in Canada.
I remember these scenes in Ohio of the 50s and 60s. It was really special to see the Cuyahoga River River catch on fire in 69. Those were the gravy days. #pollutioninchina
