Funny, I just find this depressing. Like when Robert Sheckley was reduced to writing Star Trek novels or whatever it was towards the end of his life. And the really weird part is that I'd be thrilled if Moorcock was writing an episode of the show. #doctorwho
Nice, but this is just a concept and prototype, as far as I can tell. Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find a link to actually get one. #art
Wait, is everything in that Dollhouse promo from the next episode? Or is it clips from all the finished eps?
"S. Darko (starring Jackson Rathbone, Ed Westwick Briana Evingan and the original little sister form Daveigh Chase from Donnie)"

And directed by a guy who isn't Richard Kelly from a script by a guy who isn't Richard Kelly. Wonder why that keeps getting left out.

@Mazda Eric wants to make sexy time: You are correct. IMDB sez it's directed by someone named Chris Fisher (who's only ever done TV shows) and written by Nathan Atkins, who has almost no writing credits (lots of "assistant editor" credits though). This is the second io9 story on this flick I've seen that doesn't mention the VERY salient point that Kelly isn't involved. Odd that.
@walstafa: The fact that Rob Grant isn't involved is a good indicator that it won't be good for much. Not unlike the last two seasons.
@geesejuggler: @HeeroYuy:

Yeah, it was Ackroyd. I'm having trouble thinking of a Chevy Chase SNL catchphrase actually...

@Absent Blue:

Hmmm, wonder if the son will turn out to be the real Number Two.

WHAT A TWIST!

@Scarynic:

Can we please, please, please not do this BongBoing disemvoweling bullshit? Just delete the comment and/or ban the poster. It's beyond childish.

@zenseeker:
Just because that Thatcher bloke carried a handbag everywhere doesn't make him a woman.
@nonpareil:

I absolutely adored The American Astronaut. So, that's one.

@Annalee Newitz:

Insults to io9 aside, there is something really weird about the tone of this piece. Like it would be a better fit on TMZ or something. I don't really care about on-set gossip about who's fucking who, and the relevance to SF seems a little bit tacked on. Not bad exactly, just odd to see it here.

@SimonMay: "Import prices" really aren't too bad either for UK DVDs. Amazon UK does a lot of deep discounting, charges pretty reasonably for shipping, AND deducts VAT automatically for US addresses. It's not like buying Jpop CDs at 40-50 bucks a pop plus a gazillion dollars of shipping.
snowcrash is as prolific as he is stupid and has been disemvoweled multiple times.

Wait, disemvoweled here? Please tell me we're not doing that TNH bullshit on io9. It's beyond childish.

In re "Keep circulating the tapes": when the Cinematic Titanic crew was on The Sound of Young America they said "yeah, don't do that anymore."
So who were the actors playing the singing cowboys? Is at least one of them a Whedon?
You know, I tried to watch Genesis of the Daleks (making it my first Old Who) to prepare for Journey's End, but I couldn't get through it. All that filler.

The thing is, the new show has just as much filler. It just takes the form of "let's waste five minutes having a good cry about how our mothers don't love us enough" or something equally trite, instead of running up and down corridors.

awful movie Last Year At Marienbad

You misspelled "awesome."
