@d_r_e: Gordon would be thrilled to hear this. i believe he directed "Shaolin vs Wutang" but he doesn't seem to want to talk about it
@txtphile: i believe William Gibson wrote the screenplay
hmmm ... sounds more like "The Invisibles"
in response to comments about the trailer being earthbound and the lack of otherworldly scenes, the fx shots can take quite a bit of time. i just met someone who worked on k9 and he said they finished filming a long time ago and they're taking a year to do the fx [mostly because k9 is pretty low budget but still..]
Warren Ellis? i like Transmet and some of the early Stormwatch but his characters tend to sound the same
District 9 ... which was Alien Nation + The Fly. plus the demands on my 'suspension of disbelief' was draining. guy going into the alien slums armed with a clipboard to evict [i don't remember how many] powerful aliens, people strolling into high-security areas, alien ship hovering over South Africa for over 2 decades and the rest of the world doesn't seem to be interested, the depiction of blacks ... prostitutes, really? i get it that it's allegory but the director chose a 'realistic' way to tell the story with documentary style interviews and shaky cams... the message, however relevant it was, was delivered in a ham-fisted manner yeah, nice integration of 3D and live footage, great action scenes at the end and all that but to me it fails at being good science fiction
@I3ob the Lizard: both "a bug's life" and "galaxy quest" were variations of "the three amigos" which itself was inspired by "the seven samurai"
tudyk looks heath ledger-y
wow ... i didn't think i'd have anything good to say about Dollhouse but this episode is outstanding. powerful drama without overacting #dollhouse
yeah, it definitely felt like a clip show with new material shoehorned in. so that's the cylon's "grand plan"? #battlestargalactica
i gave up after 2 episodes. these io9 articles are the only way i'm ingesting Flash Forward #flashforward
