@Daniel Wallace:
See I don't get that at all. I have a very strong wife who has helped me raise two very strong willed and smart daughters. They for one love soccer and both have shirts that say things like "I kick it like a girl!", "Girl Power!" etc and frankly they love it, and certainly love to ground it in when they play on a co-ed team and smack the boys around. My girls have a strong sense of self and are not offended by silly things like a mean-spirited joke.
Stop being offended by dumb things people say, you are only bringing yourself down to their stupid level.
The only positive thing I can see here is if this movie is made, I will no longer have to explain to people what "Cthulhu" is, why he is going to eat their face, or why I have that "weird green octopus" plush on my desk.
How come we never, ever get cool ad campaigns like this in the US? Is it that hard to realize that we LIKE entertaining (and often humorous) ads? If I was in NZ, I would watch this, just because.
And is it me, or does old Al look a little effeminate in that swing ball pic?
I wonder in Hollywood, when your TV series starts getting bad reviews and the die hard fans start jumping ship, do you have a meeting and try to fix it, or do you just keep plugging along hoping that some miracle will make people suddenly fall in love with the crap you are filming?
I purchased the first two episodes, but I was very disappointed, sure maybe I am jumping early on, but I just didn't like the characters, the whole second ep was idiotic imo, and frankly, I don't care for Eliza.
Trailer looks good, but I have to say, (and I love NIN) I thought they picked a bad song for the trailer. It felt alright in the beginning, but the song just doesn't translate and have enough punch to accompany an all out throw down action there towards the end. Besides, though many may try, no one will match the absolute perfection of the NIN music in the 300 trailer...no one.
Upon further review 3 is a decent movie, not great, but not terrible. 4, I feel it is watchable up to the point with the hybrid thing. The space pirates, the clones, I liked, but the whole hybrid idea was just insane. Don't get me started on the 'sensual' moments between Ripley and the 'snake pit' or her with the hybrid....ick, gross! My eyes!
Zooey Deschanel is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen on TV or movies and I will avoid anything she stars in. The Happening and Tin Man were painful exercises due to her terrible, flat acting.
