It works because it is marketed at kids, tapping into a need to collect stuff, plus buying extra figures is cheaper than buying an all new game, and is easier for parents to justify.
Until this year Nova Scotia didn't have a local CTV HD feed, we got the Toronto CTV feed, so they wouldn't replace the American feed if you watched it in HD because there wasn't a local equivalent HD feed. . This year local CTV station finally started broadcasting in HD and sadly I had too watch the horrible Canadian feed with tons of Permacrete commercials. After being spoiled for 4 years it was very sad...
I don't know if you read the court documents, but apparently when something was uploaded more than once, they would just assign a new link to the new uploaded file, rather than store multiple copies of each file. Then when the link was reported, they just deleted the link, but not actual file, or the other links that pointed to it.
It depends, my buddies and I usually rotate where we are going to watch the fights, and have an understanding that we are going to chip in a few bucks, and bring food/drinks too. The host usually does provide most of the food and drinks though. Usually if its someone who isn't a big fan, or is coming to watch for the first time, we don't bother trying to get them to chip in for the cost, unless they offer.
They want it to be like a PPV boxing or UFC match, where getting together to watch with buddies chipping in to cover the bill is an accepted thing. But like you said I don't think any old regular movie has that sort of appeal.
Indeed, compare the quality of that, to the early X-men First Class posters and releases, and it's not even close. It amazes me that those First Class images were approved and sent out.
Yeah that is a bit odd because the picture of (who I assume is ) Robert hitting one of the Swann's with his warhammer has him with the old crest w/o the crown.
One thing to remember is that the map represents Westeros before Robert's Rebellion, so the Targaryen lands are represented. You'll see the Mad king in Kings Landing.
The chances of anyone on this list besides maybe Duncan Jones doing this film is slim and next to none (and even Duncan Jones is probably just as slim).
