The stuff CJA hates is what made this film great: it doesn't dumb Bond down to the knuckle-dragger levels that previous films have done. There's a reason QoS doesn't devolve into the typical Bond film - it's smarter than that. The fimmakers knew that the Q gadgets, massive assaults, cheesy over-the-top supervillians were elements that kept Bond down. That they shed that dead weight speaks volumes.
On a side note, is anybody else familiar with Andy McNab's fictional character Nick Stone? I've always felt that the Craig movies drew from this character for inspiration, and I'm curious if other people had the same thought.
