Why would you link to Our Silver Ribbon? They go as far as to say she had an abortion, eh? Well, I go as far as to say she had an abortion performed by aliens, will you link to me?

I haven't read Jezebel in awhile, but my boyfriend told me y'all were making the same mistake Dan Savage did a few months ago--spreading this idea without any actual evidence. Do you have evidence besides two blog posts? Savage's readers quickly pointed out that he only had one unsubstantiated blog post to point to--that, unlike the links you provide here, was tarted up to look news-y. He quickly took down the link and made clear that it had been irresponsible on his part, and treated it as a lie. So...how do we know exactly what went on between the Santorums and their doctors? They say the doctors induced against their wishes. Other, random, people say this is not the case. Who cares? He's genuinely odious enough, and not actually going to win the nomination, so we should stop giving him this attention.

Thank you for summing up PERFECTLY why I stopped reading Jezebel.
I hate the "you can't judge a book by its cover" saying. Book covers are specifically designed to help you judge the book. They have blurbs that tell you what's inside, images and text telling you just what kind of book they think it is and to whom it should appeal. So yeah, boo hoo.
Wow. The title of this post suggests a worldview gone totally fucking wrong. Consider revising it.
Have any of you guys read this? Because I have, and it IS offensive to Mormons. He paints all Mormons as woman-kidnapping polygamists, and as a result the British believed this to be true.
I know you guys don't write about theater a lot, but I also know you love stuff about Kathleen Hanna and and Courtney Love, so you might want to tell people about my Fringe show, "Courtney and Kathleen: A Riot Act." It tells the story of riot grrrl through a fictionalized friendship between the two. We just opened and got a really awesome review:

I'm the writer/director and am so proud of the response it's getting--I really think your readers would like to know. (And you do posts directed to just New Yorkers all the time, so I figured it wouldn't hurt.) You can find out more at:

Could someone link me to wherever they read that the woman in blue used pepper spray?
Thank you--Milgram did many, many variations on the experiment, and those were the necessary conditions for the obedience. If memory serves, he did one where the "victim" was in the room, and participants refused to go on with the experiment..
Yes. In Massachusetts it's 15 years, as far as I can tell. The idea that he could press charges now is ridiculous.
Yeah...was the point of the video, "Videos and images exist, and you like them?"
This change is great, because I've been really wanting to cut down on my Jezebel reading. Ever since the "French rape is adorable" post I've wanted to just stop, but I am way too unemployed and there's only so much of a day one's job search can fill. This should finally break me of my habit and get me reading all those theatre theory books I resolved this year to read.
Yeah, people keep saying that and it mystifies me. I find her articles pointless and glib.
Oh no how do I promote comments on this new site??
@lrnmll: I like her too, and I am not her age nor do I like her. I like how honest and realistic she about the Hollywood crap, and I liked her in The Runaways even though I hated the movie itself.

But then I love Daria, too. It's funny how so many people think they like Daria as a character but actually just feel misunderstood.
Ugh, I wish there were any details in that WSJ article. What's the variance--especially regionally? Does it change if you have kids? I'd think that'd be a big one.
@thwarted: Oh right...in Europe they mostly burned heretics (Protestants or Catholics depending on who was ruling), right?
@LuckyFrog: I agree with BlueJeans--he was mocked but not shamed.
@thwarted: Did we burn any in America, or was that more of a European thing?
@Alibelle: Right, of course. Thanks for sorting me out! I knew I was missing an angle.
@mboscodyctiosaur: I think blowing out her hair is less serious an alteration than totally removing her curves (a typical cover girl treatment) would have been.
