<![CDATA[Comments from txtracer]]> <![CDATA[Comments from txtracer]]> <![CDATA[txtracer commented on George Lucas Will Change The Way Hollywood Works — Again]]> I want 12 hours of Watchmen. One hour for each issue of the original comic book. Six two-hour movies.

But you can't always get what you want.

<![CDATA[txtracer commented on Secret Origin Of Watchmen's Original Heroes]]> Alan Moore is the Richard Stallman of comics.

I thought V for Vendetta did a very good job of staying true to the book. I hope Watchmen does the same. I will say this: the closer they come to a 90-minute film, the worse it will be.

<![CDATA[txtracer commented on Battlestar Galactica's Tricia Helfer Is The Black Cat!]]> I think the original American Gladiators was almost certainly inspired by The Running Man (at least in part). RM came out in 1987, AG came out in 1989. It probably also owes a debt to pro wrestling's growing popularity at that time. Kind of a "perfect storm" moment.

It sure saved Mike Adamle's career...for a few years, anyway.

Can't have too many Max Headroom refs. When's the DVD set coming out, again? :)

I plan to wait for Netflix. I seem to do that a lot these days...

<![CDATA[txtracer commented on Movie Superheroes Whose Secret Origins Aren't In Comic Books]]> Doc Savage is definitely due for a remake/sequel. I don't know if he qualifies as a "superhero" though. If he does, then you need to add Remo Williams (The Destroyer). He was a martial arts superhero...

Watchmen is out because it was a comic book first. Ditto Mystery Men, which was based on Bob Burden's Flaming Carrot comics. (I wish that Jumpin' Jehosaphat had been in the movie, though!)

Poor Jolene. I hope someone gives her some GOOD SciFi to work with.
