Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but in the recruiting/staffing world, if you have animpossible to fill job due to the crazy combination of skills required (Java Developer with AS400 and cotton gin experience) then you call it a Purple Squirrel.

Loved the movie, but I had the series. The movie the newcomers were huge and in the tv series they weren't.

You have uncovered the secret of recruiting. Recruiters are human and have biases and preferences when it comes to resumes and resume writing.
I am a corp recruiter and I don't read cover letters, ever. I can look at a resume and tell within maybe 10 seconds if they potentially qualified.
Nooks and Kindles are like Mach 3 razors. The companies make the money on cartidges (ie. e-books) and not on the machines themselves. If that is the case then there is no point in making them easier to root.
