While I actually like this sculpt, it's been around the internet for a while, a couple of years at least. I don't think it's got anything to do with Legendary's movie.

Still, pretty fierce.
If you're having trouble with straight conservative friends who are still against this, tell them you didn't legalize gay marriage... you legalized gay *divorce*. That should make them feel more at ease.

I use painting tape and make a tag for the base of each cord, then a black sharpie on that. Ugly, but it never smudges and I never accidentally unplug the router.
How did I miss this when you guys reposted it? Thanks for showcasing my video again... Nice bump in views for me. --Wyrmwoud a.k.a. kirkslashspock
I haven't read all of the responses, but I do always feel the need to point out that you can drink too much water. Too much water in too little time can do a horrible job on your kidneys, among other things, and people have died from it. Mind you, it really does have to be a lot, but after a "hold your wee" contest for my former company ended with a contestant's death, I always feel the need to caution people who think chugging a gallon of water is smart. I agree with the one glass for each portion of drink, and make sure you urinate normally through the night so that your kidneys don't go into shock and to septic.
"Victory" felt a bit like a placeholder to me. A fun ep, but mostly there to say, "Oh yes, and the Daleks WILL be back, but we're not telling you when." "Angels", though, was perhaps one of the most riveting and interesting episodes I've seen since, well, "Blink." I didn't have any cautious misgivings about Moffat's tenure on the show after the first ep, because I knew there would be so-so 'sodes like "Beast Below" and there would be ones I don't really care for, even if they were entertaining, like "Victory," but after four eps, I have two I love already. That's a 50 percent average. That's damn good. Much better than most shows. I mourned when Davies and Tennant left, but I am definitely finished mourning. I'll probably love their run on DW the most, but Moffat and company aren't disappointing me yet. Although... I do agree. There needs to be more slaughter in the show. I mean, it's a Dr. Who tradition.
I think it's an absolute shame that I never see io9 mentioning Ex Machina in the Wednesday releases. I've been enjoying it far more than Brian Vaughn's other series, Y: The Last Man, and it's almost to it's final issue. Not that plugs would have extended its life, since BKV had a storyline worked out when he started, but still, it's such a fine book with such great art, and I never see it mentioned here. Do yourself a favor, they're reprinting issue #1 as a cheapie this week, pick it up if you've never read it. You'll thank me.
@DTurkin: I'm assuming this is a joke... I always thought she was Italian. This is a joke, right?
@Annalee Newitz: This was a graphic used for Godzilla: Final Wars promotion. It's definitely only Godzilla, he's just fierce.
First, Bionic Monster was the original U.S. title of the movie. Whoever owns the rights to The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman sued because of the use of the word 'bionic.' I believe that it was "Godzilla Vs. The Cosmic Monster" after that, until video releases renamed it Godzilla Vs. MechaGodzilla. Second, if it's the same yahoo who stole FM from Forry in the ninety's who's putting this together, I'm out. FM was my favorite mag as a kid, but what they did to Forry's legacy, practically stealing the magazine's rights from him, was reprehensible. Without Forry's pre-humous blessing, I don't want it. Besides, there's enough free stuff online.
check that last comment... I've found the X-Men cover people were referencing. Also, interestingly, starring the Brood.
If I'm remembering correctly, the "X-men" cover was in fact a cover for "Heroes for Hire," in that the team were tied up, the breasts were prominent and had an inappropriate amount of cleavage, and tentacles carressing the bodies of some of the ladies of the team (the tentacles belonging to The Brood).

If I'm right there, it seems Marvel never bothered using the cover, because I can't find it at Mile High Comics. But looking at this cover says it was pretty much the same idea. [www.milehighcomics.com]

Personally, nothing about the Marvel Divas cover bothers me except for Black Cat's posing. That's a bit obnoxious, if they're not at a photo shoot for Maxim or something (and would be just as obnoxious if it were the case). The other three just look like normal super-heroine poses that have been around for quite a long time... if you want to change things, this one cover isn't the one to tackle, but more the general idealization of what super-heroines should look like.

There have been occasional super-heroines who aren't spray painted into their outfits, but you do need to go off the beaten path to find them. Alan Moore's Promethea had one (my fave character of the series, by the way) who was a middle-aged woman forced back into the super hero business, and there are others. They are definitely few and far between.

@putch: The prequel was called "When the Tripods Came," and while it was a good read, it did feel out of place because it was set in modern time.
I can't quite get behind Pegg here. While I do find the running zombie a bit silly at times, once in a while it works. "Return of the Living Dead" (part one, of course) was genuinely scary the first time I saw it, and for me was as funny as SOTD, and still is today. A great soundtrack, while today obviously a product of the eighties (just like the movie), helped out immensely just like with SOTD.
The black and white footage was a workprint that Geffen had pulled from shelves because nobody had actually paid for the rights to release it. When asked a couple of years later if it would ever return to DVD, he said that if they ever did, he'd rather see them use the actual color footage and finish the SFX and music proprely rather than just release the work print.

I bought the out of print DVD with this footage on it the day of release, and it was pulled from shelves two days later. The world's first DVD collector's item.

The show was cute, but it's nowhere near as good as Wonderfalls was, and every time I try to watch it I'm just depressed and reminded of that fact.
