@Jay042: more than that, no video tape of regular size had the label set to be read the long way, ie, perpendicular to the axis between the two reels. every label was pasted parallel to the axis, so it could be read as one slips the tape width-ways into the vcr. in other words, no videotape is labled to be read standing on end.
if that label on that giant vcr tape was rotated 90 degrees clockwise, then that would be a fantastic piece of art. as it is, i am underwhelmed by the lack of verisimilitude.
@janai: actually oliver stone was first pick to direct this, but his vision ran completely opposite to the studio's, so they had to...wait for it...fire stone.
