you know, people are saying that Mr. Wheeler sounds like Anthony Michael Hall...but he sounds like Scott Bakula to me...

The episode has some highs and lows, but overall I find the series is still going strong.
how fortuitous, was just watching it last night...synchronicity strikes again!

and of course the best moment is when Ricky sticks his fingers into his own arm and knots his muscles together after they have been severed...who knew being a martial arts master meant that you could do surgery on yourself??
I guess we now know what happened to that rumored tv show based on "Fables"...it became mediocre sounding rip-offs...
Actually I think introducing the whole Green Lantern Corps makes sense. They need to make this franchise different from Batman and Superman (which is also being hyped up), showing Hal to be part of something bigger. I don't know about you, but Supes an Batsy always seem to only exist in their city.

Plus, since this is going to be an origin story, and the most origin story we have encountered would be Iron Man, (if I am correct [not counting Thor, since it is not fully out yet]), it needs to distinguish itself...so may as well make it BIG! (as opposed to Iron Man's stripped down version).

Also, having Ryan Reynolds interact with others brings out his ability, Robert Downey Jr. can just be in a room by himself and bring out the character...

I feel like I might have been rambling, apologies if I don't make sense...
It was a truly amazing sight, I mean Kuwait has had some bad duststorms, but then this kicked up and all of a sudden I was like WOAH!

It was bad enough that we had to cancel class for fear of driving in those condition. Despite having windows sealed up properly, sand was still all over the place.

Still quite amazed...
"Heart and Souls" was a fairly fun movie, with (what I am hoping is actually him) RDJ singing Star-Spangled Banner with BB King
An excellent write-up for one of the more gloriously over-the-top mangas out there...it's well worth a read just to try and see if you can comprehend how (awesomely) ludicrous it can be
I believe you meant to say "honorable death" instead of "honorary death" for the Charles Gunn bit... #corrections

Interesting list, don't agree with some, but others are definitely worthy of being on it...
@Charlie Jane Anders: That would actually explain the rise in violence at the bar lately...
Great recapping of who Bane really is...considering that most know him from the Clooney starring "Batman and Robin," which did no justice to the character at all.

And I must say that Gail Simone has done a great job making Bane dang interesting in Secret Six...it's good that the guy who figured out who Batman is has not faded into the background.

Say, whatever happened to Doomsday?
The thing about Wonder Woman is that in my mind, she has no interesting story that I would like to watch/read about. Even the origin story seems to be a bit messy and uninteresting (not because she is a woman, but because I don't understand is she an ambassador of peace or is she here to be a hero, what is her role in all of this basically...)

My suggestion for a Wonder Woman movie would be to do it like they did it for Hellboy...she is doing her job at the Department of Metahuman Affairs (the one where she is wearing that white jumpsuit, still sexy and easily identifiable) and she is dealing with a rookie, and from there her origins of being from Paradise Island unfold as we get into some serious mythical stuff as some god or the other has decided to make her day a bad one. Eventually we get a final fight scene with her in her classic costume (with a bit more armor and less...well whatever her costume is).

At least it makes sense in my head...
Very cool that someone put it up.

I still have my copy of this comic actually, so while you guys read it on screen I shall read it in hand!
@foolish-rain: I totally agree...they have short-changed Stefanie and Katie...

Especially Stefanie...Marc Guggenheim wrote a decent Flash, and as executive producer for this show, he should/could tell the writers how to be interesting about it. Alas, this is not so.
@NoelVeiga: I caught that too, it was the episode where they were fast-breeding perfect soldiers and they found out that the soldiers were growing old too fast.

This happened waaaaaay back in Season 01, one of the first few episodes (I want to say number 3, but I think it might be a bit later than that)...
It looks alright, a bit shaky with Reynolds on the wires (or so it seems, low quality plus we still got 7 months or so of post left, so it's all fixable)

Color me genuinely interested...

As for those saying Reyonlds being a bit too Reynolds-like...don't forget when Jordan first became a Green Lantern...he was pretty damn cocky and fun (especially when you put him next to Batman) all the way until he became Parallax...
How fortuitous...I was actually writing a short story about an environmental disaster...

I love you io9...
@drhaggis: definitely! I watch that episode every Halloween just for James Earl Jones and Homer doing "The Raven"
I have been waiting for someone on io9 to review this.

It was a great book and a satisfying conclusion to Tiffany Aching...we were introduced to her as she was young and still not fully witchified yet and now we find her already more mature than her cheese (Horace is seriously mature though...)

Sure it was a bit dark, especially the opening sequence, but death is becoming more and more prevalent these days in children's books...don't forget Neil Gaiman's Graveyard Book's opening was the murder of the family except for Bod...

All in all, great book, I am glad to have it in the collection and would recommend everyone to read the entire four-book series, even if you don't have kids...
@scottelsdon: I remember reading somewhere that when Pratchett got a US publisher/distributor, they said his British covers would be a turn-off to the audience he was aiming at (I don't understand the logic either, but hey...) and so they gave these boring, abstract, mundane covers...

That's why I always order the British versions, prices be damned!
