Mosquitoes tend to thrive in humid environments where rain is common, but they aren't exactly the hardiest of creatures. The typical raindrop weighs in at a mass about fifty times that of your average mosquito—so how do the little buggers manage to survive on a rainy day? More »

Three hundred million years ago there was a period of global warming. Two hundred million years ago, dinosaurs roamed the land, wreaking havok and spreading terror. Scientists think the two events were intimately linked. More »

Korean researchers have come up with a novel alternative to umbrellas and raincoats in this alien-inspired "UFO Cap." It's a UFO-shaped head-and-chest cover that prevents raindrops from splattering on your face. This look may also help humans look less threatening to arriving aliens, who may find solace in the fact that we resemble their vehicles. Check out the full ad below, which promises the UFO Cap will be "the wings for your arms." More »

Collin Chou, who played the Seraph in the Wachowski's Matrix trilogy, has confirmed that he'll be starring in a fantastical ninja movie to be produced by the Wachowskis. He couldn't say much about it, but did admit it would have fantasy elements and that production is set to start next month. Korean pop singer Rain, who most recently played a cyborg in I'm a Cyborg But That's OK, will also be in the flick, rumored to be called Ninja Assassin.
