One of the most frustrating things about the original American pilot for the remake of British time-travel show Life On Mars was the character of detective Annie Cartwright. As played by Rachelle Lefevre, Annie had none of the nervous energy of her British counterpart, a woman trying to prove herself as a police officer in the early 1970s. But she also wasn't believable as a "women's libber." So it's probably a good move that Lefevre has been replaced by Notorious Bettie Page star Gretchen Mol, who joins Harvey Keitel and Michael Imperioli in an increasingly star-studded cast.
