The fall TV season is beginning, and that means one thing — you're finally going to get to see the TV pilots that the networks have been sweating over for a year. Most of them will totally suck — even if the shows they launch wind up being good. But a few of them will be amazing, full of killer action and interesting characters. More »

Ron Moore's original series bible for Battlestar Galactica is online, and it's full of critiques of "bumpy-headed aliens," "techno-double-talk" and other Star Trek mainstays. Tomorrow's the last episode of Lost before the big-blow-out finale, and some people feel like the island-castaway show hasn't explained enough. Is Lost another answers-averse show like Battlestar Galactica? No. In fact, Lost has already provided more answers than BSG. More »

Science fiction author Charles Stross hates Star Trek. We've all had our problems with Battlestar Galactica's weird solar flare-out of an ending, but was it actually the worst ending in the history of science fiction? That's what Usenet luminary and Electronic Frontier Foundation Chairman Brad Templeton is claiming. More »

Yes, Dollhouse may have lowered the bar for "success" for Fox's Sci-Fi shows, but even with that in mind, the audience for last night's Virtuality airing suggests that the show will never make it to series. More »

Seth Green is currently guest starring on Heroes, but in this clip from tomorrow night’s Robot Chicken season premiere, Tim Kring wasn’t the first science fiction television producer he approached for work. Green and his Robot Chicken co-creator Matthew Senreich find themselves unemployed and ask Joss Whedon and Battlestar Galactica creator Ron Moore for a job. The meetings don’t go as well as they had hoped, but expose everything you secretly suspected about the producers. More »

Remember Caprica, the Battlestar Galactica prequel that Ron Moore was working on? Moore and co. shot a pilot months ago, and we were supposed to hear by September whether it would become a series. Sci Fi had planned to air the pilot as a TV movie in December, but scrapped the idea. Now the pilot may not air until after the last BSG episode — and maybe not even then. One of my big worries for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been the tendency to dip too far into religious allegory. But last night's episode, "Brothers of Nablus?" Totally converted me. I'm now a zealot for the Bible stories in the Terminator universe, thanks to Cameron's Old-Testament bloodthirstiness and the show's little twist about New-Testament forgiveness not always being the best policy. Click through for spoilers and rehashing. More »

As Californians prepare to vote on whether to allow teh gayz to get married, we could soon be seeing our first same-sex married couple on television — but the show takes place in the distant future. As this week's TV Guide trumpets, Ron Moore's Virtuality includes the sure-to-be-controversial married couple Manny (Jose Pablo Cantillo) and Val (Gene Farber), who hold hands freely aboard the starship Phaeton. And show creator Ron Moore tells a queer television blogger that he feels bad for not including more gay characters on Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica. <a href="http://io9.com/5060664/ron-moore-brings-us-same+sex-marriage-in-space" title="Click here to read more about Ron Moore Brings Us Same-Sex Marriage... There are many, many reasons to wish that you'd worked on Sci Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica: -the critical kudos, the security of being involved in one of television's best SF shows ever, the possibility of being in the same room as Grace Park at some point - but the wrap party's special limited edition yearbook may be the prettiest reason of them all. Is it too much to ask that this tribute to the cast and crew of the show gets some kind of modified general release when the series reaches its conclusion next year? More »

What better way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Battlestar Galactica this week than by disillusioning fans? We'll do that by letting you know just how unoriginal the show's robotic bad guys really were. It's not enough that they looked like Darth Vader's cheaper, silver cousins - now we find out that they were originally intended to have been very similar to Doctor Who's favorite alien cyborgs, as well. More »
