Massachusetts Can Double As The Lunar Surface

"Harwich is more fun than Brooklyn," Brooklyn filmmaker Jay Weisman told the local government of Harwich, MA as he sought permission to film his feature-length science fiction movie Shockwave, Darkside there. The movie takes place in the distant future, on Earth's moon, and covers the war between the Unlights, who stayed behind on Earth, and the Banished, who were exiled to the moon. They fight over religion, and how to use the moon's resources. East Harwich has a giant crater, Crowell's Pit, which can stand in for the moon's surface, and owner Edward Crowell has given permission for night filming, which starts in January, Weisman said.
