Here's Robert Rodriguez's movie for Nike, The Black Mamba, which stars Kobe Bryant as a basketball player with Last Dragon-like superpowers, Danny Trejo as a henchman with giant claws, Bruce Willis as some guy in a suit, and Kanye West as a supervillain who collects shoes (or something). There's also a basketball bomb. None of it makes a lick of sense, but it's pretty slick for a footwear commercial. More »

Check out this strange trailer for Robert Rodriguez's Nike movie called The Black Mamba. Apparently Bruce Willis, who is the devil, wants Kobe Bryant's shoes (because Kobe's the greatest player in the world... *cough*). And now Bryant has to play on a basketball court of fire (OK that part was cool). Danny Trejo's makes a cameo, naturally, and so will Kanye West. Huh? We're confused, hold us. This new ad for Puma's v1.08 soccer boot freaks me out. In the year 2178, soccer players will have their legs ripped off and replaced with weird cyber-horse legs, so they can trot around and do kangaroo jumps for the amusement of their beer-swilling orthohuman masters. Until then, the ad says, the closest you can get to being a deformed cyber-beast athlete is to buy Puma's newest model. It's just the latest in a long line of freaky dystopian adverts. More »
