In reply to Never Mind This Week's Comics, We're All About The Prose
WTF!!: Planetary #27 is out tomorrow? that deserves a single post dedicated to it. Perhaps that's why it's not mentioned

Planetary #27 will never happen. It's a myth. Graeme knows this, which is why he omitted it.

In reply to Batman Sues Christopher Nolan Over Success Of The Dark Knight
I think I can resolve this whole issue:

    [en.wikipedia.org]

'The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939).'

I think we can, therefore, safely say that this backwater Turkish village had plenty of chances prior to this to take this to court.

Of course, part of me has to grin a bit at the idea that the 'suing people for money' idea is no longer specific to America.

@Sheogorath: The town wasn't founded in 1955. That's the refinery.

@Ghede: i don't think that he was saying that Batman the character came before the town did, just that the town has had almost 70 years to sue DC, and never has. why should it have the right to do so now? that is like if my grandfather burned his tongue on a cheeseburger from McDonalds in the 40's, and now decides to sue them today because he can't afford to retire. too much time has passed. (at least, that is what i think Sheogorath was getting at)
