white washed list is white washed. from this list you could almost get the impression america is the only country writting comics with cities in them and the comics from other contries all take place in the country side or maybe they're just 'quaint' foreign towns.
@tetracycloide: True. 2000AD is British through and through. But it sill puts its main star (Dredd) in a city that once used to be New York. We still see Brit cit, Texas cit and they even had a Sov Block (which was the size of a regular city)..but alas...Dredd nuked it back to the stone age. Infact im thinkg that Dredd being let loose in any city is a recipe for disaster. He just seems to love blowing shit up, especially huge buildings. Even though 2000AD is British, I dont think Dredd would have had the same appeal if he was thrown into a futuristic London, Manchester or some tiny village. Besides....this lovely comic also provides some other cool settings and citys with its other characters. Nikolai Dantes future Russia is an amazing sight to behold. Nemesis and Torqumeda's underground super tunnel and city are also unbelievable. The list goes on and on!!!
I agree with other io9'ers here. What the hell. Wheres Megacity 1. Its got everything and more. Infact, its one of the original futuristic comic citys. Dredd will not be pleased, not one bit!
Neopolis from Top 10 was a city built by mad scientists after World War 2 and a home for superheroes, policed by superheroes. Every street shot is packed with sci-fi/comic book/cartoon references.
My goodness, what about Transmetropolitan, from the Warren Ellis series of the same name? Now that's a real speculative super city, future-warts and all...
