Looks like he's been taking notes from Moebius. Excellent; he's at his best in sci-fi mode, methinks. Hey, Paul . . . animated THB movie? I'm just sayin'.
Anyone else mistaken that io9 had an exclusive with Pope Benedict XVI? I was terribly confused and amused. The image of Ratzinger with turntables was pretty amazing.
All stories about this haven't mentioned a price. I'm thinking $5 minimum. Back issues will probably be at a premium too since most people won't bag and board them. Overall though it sounds like a great idea.
Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park made being an archaeologist very cool. Also Rachel Weisz (also known as the crush of every ivy league college student everywhere) in the Mummy series.
@Justin Cho: Dr. Grant was not an archaeologist. He was a paleontologist. Archaeologists look for artifacts and remains pertaining to human beings. Paleontologists look for the remains of extinct animals such as dinosaurs.
@Briareosdx: Yeah, I'm surprised McDevitt wasn't mentioned. I mean, pretty much ALL of his books deal with interstellar archeology. Which isn't necessarily a good thing, but hey, I liked most of his books.
Also from Babylon 5: Dr. Vance Hendricks. Dr. Franklin's former professor now turned field archeologist working for the evil Interplanetary Expeditions.
"It's almost as though the Federation's apparent policy of stranding one or two people on an uninhabited planet for years at a time to dig through the remains of a dead civilization was somehow flawed."

Internet complaining is the mind-killer.
My nit picking is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
