i must admit i didn't much care for the abrupted chronology of this season's opener. it felt gratuitous and overwrought. the choice to display the time sequence via a real-time apprasial of an issue one comic was inspired. i suspect that was the reason for the choice to go with the format and i only wish they had applied it to something more appropriate.
@tetracycloide: Nothing could be more appropriate than to use the gradual degradation and destruction of a fannish object of desire as a way of pointing to the true sequence of events in the universe of the Venture Brothers.
@Briareosdx: i know! the count down was perfection. i just wish they had applied it to a plot that actually made sense with a disjointed time sequence. although it was probably a parody of adventure shows that do the same thing i just found it more annoying than funny. #theventurebros
@tetracycloide: I spent like, 30 minutes chronicling the order of all the pop-ups. Brock's sequences with the title chyrons (e.g. "The Human Torch", "The Angel", et cetera) proceed in a forward linear fashion along the table of contents of Marvel #1; the Ventures' story proceeds as the value of Marvel #1 decreases. I felt so smart for figuring it out, and then @JamesUrbaniak tweeted this morning, "Brock story runs forward from season 3 finale, Venture family story runs backwards to season 3 finale." Everything seems so much simpler when someone else can say it in 140 characters. #theventurebros
Poor west coasters. As if last night's episode wasn't confusing enough already. Or maybe I'm just not good with a disjointed temporal continuity. #theventurebros
@OW-Holmes: Bringer of Fear: Well, we have seen the boys mom. At least genetically speaking. She was Doc. V's first bodyguard. Hank takes after her, Dean takes after Dr. Venture. #theventurebros
Aren't they supposed to have a sister or something? Maybe she is the sexy/competent sister that actually has the ability to carry on the badass Venture tradition and gets shit done but that no one listens to because she is just a hot chick. Or maybe its just someone Brock bangs. Or both! #theventurebros
@CoffeyWasHere: The sister thing came from "Love-Bheits" when Baron Unterbheit was going to marry Dean and mistook his name for "Dawn", and Hank thought he had a hidden sister. #theventurebros
I honestly can't tell whether they're making it up as they go along or they have a huge elaborate plan. My guess is that Publick and Hammer have a basic plan for what they want to do (each season seems to have a "theme") and that they throw things in each episode to either mess with or inspire each other. #theventurebrothers
