    If we're throwing recommendations into the ring, I'm gonna cast one for Irredeemable. It's low priced, and one of the best Superman amalgams since Mr. Majestic. But the story itself is so much deeper than Superman knockoff. Pick up the first issue, you'll know the t-shirts were right. Mark Waid Is Evil, indeed. #5comicsyoushouldbereading

    Thanks for giving Locke &Key the credit it deserves. It's a fantastic, creepy story, and the second volume was one of the trippiest thing's I've read in a while.

    What was the name of that comic you guys were talking up awhile ago, the one with the girl who gets hit with fragments of an exploded military armor suit, that turns her into this witchblade knockoff?     One not mentioned but worth checking out if you want a fun story about a girl who whenever she falls asleep she finds herself in an extremely realistic American Revolution setting that may or may not be real. It's a little girly but I am absoulutely in love with The Dreamer. It started as a web comic here:

    @Sunshineyness: At first I thought you were going to mention "Dreamless", a web comic set in Hawaii and Japan just before 12/7/1941. An American girl and a Japanese boy who, when asleep, see through the eyes of the one who is awake.

    I was reading Air up until some stupid flying machine showed up, at which point I gave up.

    Resurrection is completely awesome, though I do kind of miss the old artist...

    A book I cannot recommend more is CHEW, over at Image. It's such a great story, with a lot of interesting threads, fun art, and great characters. One of the the most fun I've had reading a comic book in YEARS.

    Also, BPRD: 1947, if just for the combination of Fabio Moon's art, and Gabriel Ba, two of the best artists in the business (IMHO). #5comicsyoushouldbereading

    @PVIII: I have the exact experience. Once Air started looking like something out of early 70s Mad (or, candidly, King City, which suffers the same problems in art and conception) it lost me

    Big fan of Chew as well, but, speaking of Gabriel Ba, am perhaps most anxious (hoping?) to see the third arc of the Umbrella Academy. #5comicsyoushouldbereading

    @thufir_hawat: Ah, aren't we all! I think Way has his hands full with touring, so it might be awhile. But man, is that book always worth the wait!

    I also had a big problem with Air's art. It was very flat, and as you say, 70s Mad. Would've really benefited from a more surreal artist (like Weldele or Jock or something...).

    Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes CHEW! I'm sure it'll be a movie or TV show soon enough (really has all the trappings)...not that it's necessarily a good thing. #5comicsyoushouldbereading

    I read a preview of Air somewhere (in the back of a Fables comic, maybe?), and thought it sounded fascinating. I'll have to go pick up those collections. #5comicsyoushouldbereading
