    Just trim it down to 9 hours and make it a trilogy. Pink Floyd! OMFG!


    I wonder if Floyd wrote any of the music? We'd need to recast, but there's no reason that this couldn't be resurrected.


    I think Lynch had it down, he just needed another movie to get it all in.

    That sounds like it would have kicked so much ass. How could an idea like this ever have been scrapped?

    Wow, thanks for putting these up. I'm a fan of Moebius but haven't seen most of these. They really put the Opera in Space Opera don't they? I could see some of them in a production of The Magic Flute.

    Is that really Thufir Howatt? Looks more the battle-scarred pirate than stuffy academic, very suiting for a Mentat and Master of Assasins. I was also taken aback at first by the Beast Rabban looking like a foppish Charles Laughton. Now I imagine him idly bashing in the skull of a slave while sucking on a melange ice-lolly, whining, "I'm BORED! Let's blow something up."

    I don't know if I'd put up with 14 hours of Jodorowsky but these images will definitely be running through my head the next time I read Dune.

    Whoever is making the new Dune should be paying attention. You wont be able to do the book justice (Im looking at you Snyder) so make it your own. The only reason people like Lynch's Dune is because it is so over the top.

    I predict (to the extent one can predict things that would only have occurred in an alternate past), that the correct, and perhaps only possible, way to view this would have much in common with the Teletubbies and Eraserhead.

    @92BuickLeSabre: Totally out of left field but I always saw the Teletubbies as Eloi. Yhey laugh and play until a siren voice calls them inside the hill and the adorable unseen Morlocks within.

    Upon closer inspection, the color and tone of many of these remind me of Amano's character design work, like that for Final Fantasy 6. One could look at them and ask which RPG archetypes they are!

    That big concept for Baron Harkonnen looks like a cross between Buddha, a sumo wrestler, and Bette Midler's biggest fans! I don't know how he could support his own weight with all that bling, especially as I see no suspensor. <.<
