And the elephants. Always with the elephants. Look, don't get me wrong, I love elephants. One of my favorite animals. The experience of riding an elephant into a lake for a bath? Sublime. But I'll tell you what, let's take a trip to Thailand, see how well elephants and the modern world co-exist. You know how well? Well just this week in Thailand they were painting them to look like pandas. You know why? Because people are tired of the elephants. They'd rather be surrounded by giant pandas with long noses and tusks. GIANT PANDAS PEOPLE!
And the robots...well, actually, yes to the robots. More robots please.

But balloons? Come on. It's the one step in flight that didn't try to imitate the natural world (too much). It's not a bird. It's wholly original and specifically human. There's a romanticism in that. Also the fact that it's rather useless and was outmoded quickly. What's more human than grasping at ephemera?
