And the watering hole in the foreground braces for an Alien/Predator smackdown, in new Aliens Vs. Predator game concept art.

The next Aliens Vs. Predator game isn't due out from Sega until next spring, but some fans on the Sega forum discovered what appears to be new concept art. Besides the lovely spaceport above, there's a lush jungle. And a scene of a poor Colonial Marine getting dragged away while an Alien and Predator prepare to throw down — which is almost worthy of one of the Old Masters, what with the Marine's uplifted face, filled with horror.

The fact that the AVP movies are dead remains a very Good Thing. But maybe one more AVP game could be worthwhile? We can hope, anyway. More art at the link. [SEGA Forums]

<![CDATA[Predators Beat Aliens, And They Want Another Round With Arnold]]> The results are in: the cage match of Alien Versus Predator is officially over, and Predator producer John Davis is calling the match in favor of the Predators. The next logical step is to go back and kill off every human that ever stood in their way. Davis thinks the chances of working with the "get to da choppa" screaming alien slayer originator himself are fair (once he retires from politics). Plus more details on Davis' next project The Sims movie.

In an interview with Collider, John Davis talked about reviving the Predator franchise and said he would love to include Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"Well, the Governor (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has mentioned to me that when he ceases to be Governor, if he doesn’t run for the Senate and all of that stuff, he’d like to do a movie or two again. And I don’t know, maybe we could restart the Predator franchise,"

Don't get me wrong, I hope and pray just about every week that Arnold will come back and teach these puny baby men how to do a real action movie but "all that other stuff," is probably super appealing to the Governator.

As far as the AVP series, the war is over and Davis is ready to revisit only the warrior aliens again:

"I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator..."

But besides his dreams and aspirations for more monster flicks Davis is busy working on the video and computer game movie adaptation of the The Sims where you create and control your own little characters. Davis described the movie as a group of teens that get their hands on a limited addition "Sims Infinity Pack" from a mysterious source. The new game can scan their own world into the computer, and suddenly they realize that what happen on the game is starting to change the real world. Davis is still busy at work on this project, which will include virtual reality people entering the real world.

For more details on this interview and Davis check out the full interview at Collider.

<![CDATA[Alien Will Kick Your Ass at Chess]]> It's been a while since I've stolen somebody's queen, but two alien-themed chess sets are putting me in the mood to do it. You can pick between AVP or aliens vs. Ripley. Here you can see the stately, evil-sacrifice-temple-themed chess board where aliens and Predators fight it out. Below, a closer look at the AVP board and another board where aliens fight Ripley and crew.

Each side of this board is also themed. Here you're seeing the "alien" side, with all the cool Giger-style pipes. On the other side, it looks like a human-made spaceship.
