Phil: What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?
Ralph: That about sums it up for me.
Last year, on my 21st birthday I ordered a sweet vermouth on the rocks with a twist, said a prayer, and drank to world peace. The bartender thought it was HILARIOUS. My friends didn't get it - AT ALL.
all things considered, I wouldn't play a Groundhog Day video game.

i'm sure it's possible a good adaptation could be made but 11 times out of 10 it's only being done for the same reason movie characters are made into action figures.

Goldeneye. Goldeneye. Goldeneye. The early Spiderman games based on the movies were pretty good. There were probably some before video games became an obligatory marketing tie in. (Im not sure where the Dune games fit in as either a game based on a movie or based on a book) The games are always rushed to come out with the movie. I think if you were to make a game based on an old movie it would work out better.

How about "Escape from Butcher Bay" based on the Chronicles of Riddick?

@Evlsushi & capntim & Dormouse II: The Wrath of Gryphon: set in the same universe and/or featuring the same characters isn't quite the same thing as being based on a movie, at least not in my mind. this is certinaly up for debate but when you don't even have to bother paying lipservice to the original movie's plot it's hard to call it an actual adaptation.
