Reading this post and the comment thread, I keep thinking we should have a contest for our readers to draw their own version of Batman RIP in crayons, sort of like the sort of thing Chris at the ISB used to get up to. A one- or two-page Batman RIP in crayons would be awesome.

Gosh, I actually liked it. Loved the Joker's speech, I actually empathized with the poor bastard when he explained his frustration to the group.

I feel like some things were changed at the last minute, but maybe the consequences I had thought were coming were just red herrings. I had heard that Alfred was going to be near death, followed by two issues where Alfred retells the origin story. I suspect they were reluctant to change the status quo that much.

But change is coming. Next year the bat and bat-related comics are on hiatus while they do this battle for the cowl storyline. I'm in.

The problem with Grant morrisson is that he's more in love with his own ability to write, and to write weird things than he is with the thing he's actually writing.

It's what made The Invisibles occasionally look like a big pile of bullshit surrounded by brilliance.
