Diedrich Bader has done so many good comedies like the Drew Carey Show and The Beverly Hillbillies I can't take him seriously has Batman. #batmanthebraveandthebold
"Criminals are a superstitious cowardly lot," Batman. Batman has always had a wide variety of weapons in his war on crime. Sure he's a scientist but he also uses psychology, mythic symbolism, and a certain theatricality. Why should he be above magic and mysticism if the mission calls for it? As Adam Drew posted -- "Right tool for the right job." #batmanthebraveandthebold
I remember watching the pilot for Fringe and not being really intrigued passed that, going as far as dismissing it as an X-Files for people not old enough to remember X-Files.
BUT... I've heard nothing but good from lots of people since then and really should rent the first season and play catch up. And I was already spoiled on the season 1 finale and that got me really intrigued to go watch it. It's on my Netflix queue. #television
Dollhouse. The first 5/6 episodes last season were horrendous and I stopped watching. Season 2 rolled around, and I'm still missing it since I don't want to buy the season 1 DVD yet, and Hulu took most of season 1 down before I could give it another go, and now it's canceled. That and I still can't get the bad taste of the first few eps out of my mouth. Yuck!
Besides Dollhouse, I've been an on-again/off-again viewer of Venture Bros., and I won't get into the current season until I watch (and make sense of) the entire preceding series. Unlike Dollhouse, it won't get canceled but it'll take 2 years for another season to roll out.
@RexMaximus: When you do get the Dollhouse DVD (or if you can get an episode some other way [en.wikipedia.org] ), start with the 'Unaired Original Pilot' (on the 4th disc as an extra [en.wikipedia.org] ), it will make then trawling through the (very) broken first five tolerable (try playing spot-the-scene, as the 'Pilot' gets chopped up and dropped, piece by piece, into the first five, it'll help to distract you), 'til Whedon starts to get a grip on it (and Fox's 'network's notes') in 'Man on the Street'.
It actually manifests some drive and pace and you get enough of a hint of how it might have played out to keep you going until runs up to the unaired 13th episode 'Epitaph One' (also on the 4th disc as an extra).
It looks like there may be more of the good stuff coming up.
Glau's character's physical appearance [io9.com] gives a big hint as to where it might be going at the end and the recent viral [io9.com] (warning! contains my ludicrously speculative and possibly spoilery comment) hints as to the bigger backstory that's leading there.
With all but 2 of the remaining 9 already filmed [io9.com] , it'll be up to Whedon to pull out the stops for the finale.
To miss-quote the Dushku "If you've already failed, for fuck's sake fail big!". #television
@SJ_Edwards: Thanks. If I get into Netflix for PS3, Dollhouse + "Unaired Pilot" will be one of the first things I'll get in the mail/stream. #television
Fringe! I watched the entire first season and this one... until the baseball hiatus. And I haven't watched an episode since it's been back.
I think it's only one or two episodes to catch up on.
And I stopped DVRing FlashForward two weeks ago. I don't want to find myself five seasons in with no more answers than I have today. THOUGH, I accidentally stumbled upon a huge spoiler online. #television
Flash Forward. I always tell myself I'm gonna go on Hulu today and start watching it, but then I never do. Instead I watch SGU or Fringe or V. #television
@TickMan: Nope, they block it in Canada because of either competition from Teletoon or (apparently) Canada is a pirate haven, which is weird 'cuz I thought we were more ninjas. Hulu doesn't work either. #television
I feel guilty for keeping up with Heroes. At this pace they're going to cancel all the shows I actually enjoy and the damn thing will still stay on #television
@Dirk Anger: Wow, Heroes is just everybody's whipping boy, ain't it?
Of course, it's their own damn fault. The first season was the second best adaptation of Watchmen I've ever seen (first is the Incredibles, and yes I'm being contrarian here), and then they literally lost the plot. #television
@Dirk Anger: I'm with Evil Tortie's Mom: TiVo changed our life. I have no idea when the shows Mrs. Overclock and I watch are actually on. They just show up on the machine. And we watch them whenever we have a spare moment, sometimes in quarter-hour installments.
Well, I know which days the ones I watch are on (plus/minus half a day). They just appear on the intertubes every morning, and well, assuming you don't have lunch at home during the week but you do on weekends, you can still watch 5 during week nights and 4 during the weekend. With all the ones that don't show every now and then you can still keep up with 10-12 shows without watching a single minute during the time you'd be, well, out having a life.
(That's if you are with him on the not having a life/hobbies) thing. If you are with him on the TiVo thing, well, I wouldn't know, since we don't have those in my country, but sounds similar to bittorrent, minus the carrying the shows to the TV) #television
@Chip Overclock: We do watch LOST same-day, so as not to have to avoid discussion the next day. But we also like to start everything 15-20 min. late so we don't have to sit through ads. #television
@Golem100: I never even waded in -- got burned by both Felicity and Alias's total incoherence and lack of plotting, and promptly assigned Abrams to the completed-series-on-DVD file. #television
@Whitworthian: I think that the poll is suggesting that these are shows that are in trouble (although I hope it's not true of the Ventures, even though I can't actually watch it). The Doctor will never die. #television
@Whitworthian: Doctor Who is so hard to keep up with since it was only on Sci-Fi at, like, 5am on Friday morning with crazy marathons every few weeks (with the same eps each time). Or BBC America, which isn't a basic cable channel in lot of places. #television
@Whitworthian: I do feel guilty for not keeping up with the Doctor. Well, except that I didn't like the way they presented the Daleks and the Cybermen. #television
@matthewabel: I remember when they used to show the old Tom Baker ones on PBS. I didn't realize that they were showing all the episodes of each story arc in a row, so I would tape them only one half hour, thinking that the the next week would follow from there, but it would be a whole new story. Very confusing.
But rest assured that when they finally have shows you can download directly into your eyeballs or whatever will replace TV, the Doctor will be on. #television
@Whitworthian: They're going to let Lost go until they actually finish the story, and Clone Wars will last as l0ng as Lucas wants to do it. FlashForward is another one I feel mildly guilty about missing. #television
@Golem100: Like I wrote before, Fringe is the only one where I feel I should be watching it but I don't. Otoh, I have been watching the X-Files on DVD and I keep thinking "yeah, this is how it's done" (at least up until Season 5 or 6, when they leapt a certain piece of marine life). #television
@Wookie1972: Kind of like Stargate about the time RDA stopped acting and started playing a slightly sarcastic version of himself. Killed my buzz for Atlantis and Universe. #television
I don't feel guilty about missing this season of Ventures, I feel p*ssed, because I can't get it in Canada, and my main internet access is through work, so I can't exactly download it there. But I said Fringe, because I tried really, *really* hard to get into it, and putting it up against the Thursday NBC stuff just sealed the deal against it. #television
I wish I could say I felt guilty about Dollhouse because I liked Buffy and Firefly makes me cream my jeans, but Dollhouse just makes me feel indifferent. I jumped on during the second season and I just don't give a shit about anyone because they don't seem to be going anywhere.
My Dollhouse summary: doll is put out with a client, shit hits fan, computer geek and handler do shit to wipe her brain, doll is stuck back in dollhouse. Yawn, change channel.
Right now, I'm watching V, SG:U, Fringe, FlashForward, Star Wars, and occasionally I'll catch Batman or Venture Bros. Chuck is funny, but I want to start from Season 1 and I can't find bootlegs and I don't want to start in the middle of Season 2 and blah blah blah excuses for piracy.
And where do I go to watch Star Wars online? I've been trying the official site, but they're stuck on episode 4 while Cartoon Network plays the rest of the season. I don't have cable anymore, so Hulu and bootleg sites are my primary TV suppliers.
TL;DR VERSION: I watch shows I like and ignore the ones I don't. I voted for Chuck.
@Rocketknight:
I watched Dollhouse since the first episode, but it really wasn't the first episode and Dushku is hot but thestory's not etc , etc #television

That's the only genre show I think I'd probably like but haven't ever bothered to actually watch.
Four of the shows on the list are ones I watch regularly, and the other entries are shows I have absolutely no regret about skipping.
