Plus telltale pics from Dollhouse, Repo Men, Battle: Los Angeles and Doctor Who. Also: Swamp Thing, Elm St., Lobo and Chuck.

Inception:

Here's a giant concrete building in Alberta that 40 construction workers and carpenters spent three months building for the filming of this Christopher Nolan mindfreak saga.[Calgary Herald]

Lost:

Here's a new fairy-tale-themed trailer. (Still with no new footage.)

One of these things is going to happen early in the final season: Sayid kills Jack, or Sayid dies. (I'm guessing it's Sayid dies, but only in one of the two timelines, meaning we still get alternate-universe Sayid.) [E! Online]

Josh Holloway hints we'll see Sawyer try and track down his daughter Clementine, in the universe where Sawyer's off the island. "That's something I would like to see. Even if they don't meet, his intention to meet her would be important to me. To see him off the island with her name and address on a piece of paper." [TV Guide Magazine]

Doctor Who:

Here are some pics from the scene you've already seen, featuring June Whitfield grabbing the Doctor's butt. [BlogtorWho]

Repo Men:

Here's a new still and a new poster from this artiforg-repo movie. [IGN]

Battle: Los Angeles:

We already featured a slew of set pics from this movie, but here's a pic of Aaron Eckhart in his uniform. [Jonathan Hoff on Flickr via Slashfilm]

Swamp Thing:

Producer Joel Silver says he's hoping to make this film soon — in 3-D — but don't hold your breath for Wonder Woman. [MTV]

Lobo:

This is another movie that Silver is hoping to get done soon — but rumored director Guy Ritchie says it's definitely not a done deal that he's directing it. [MTV]

Nightmare On Elm St.:

Is this movie in trouble, or just being fastidious? A second round of reshoots is happening, including a funeral scene that required extras to portray mourners. [Cinemablend]

Dollhouse:

Wondering who's back in the third-to-last and second-to-last episodes? Just about everybody, judging from these new pics. [SpoilerTV]

Chuck:

Here are a few clips from the season opener, "Chuck Vs. The Pink Slip". [Yvonne Strahovski Fansite]

Here are summaries of the first three episodes:

Chuck Vs. The Pink Slip/Chuck Vs. The Three Words: Chuck flunks out of spy school and loses Sarah; Morgan tries to help Chuck get over Sarah; Chuck tries to talk to Sarah about their relationship.

Chuck Versus the Angel of Death: Chuck must protect a visiting dictator from an assassination threat; Awesome is excited about the idea of being a spy

[MSN TV]

And here are some new cast interviews and snippets:

Heroes:

Here's the official synopsis for the Jan. 11 episode, "Close To You":

<![CDATA[The Aliens Are Pissed On The Set Of Battle LA]]> Battle For LA is still filming its alien ground war in Louisiana, and we've found a few pictures of an on-set explosion. Is this the kind of alien danger Aaron Eckhart and his military unit will have to face?

The great photos were taken by manwithscaryspouse who seemed to be right next to the action and described the above pictures as, "Mushroom cloud of fire caused when production company explodes bus." Looks like they really are trying hard to keep the realistic military vibe to this alien feature. The pictures are from September of this year, but they are certainly new to us.

MTV's Hollywood Crush recently spoke with ex True Blood star Lucas Till and he described the movie asIndependence Day meets Black Hawk Down, which from the pictures, sounds about right.

"It's basically any 19-year-old guy's dream job. I get to go to work and shoot guns all day so it's pretty awesome," he told MTV News. "It's basically an unknown force attacks Los Angeles and it revolves around this platoon of marines, which I'm apart of, and then we try to save Los Angeles. And it's kind of like 'Independence Day' and 'Black Hawk Down' mixed."

The film is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman and while we're excited to see Aaron Eckhart star in his own action flick, our vote is still out until we see what these attacking aliens look like. And we have a long wait: the feature won't be released until February 2011.

<![CDATA[Ne-Yo Joins Battle In "Black Hawk Down" Meets "Aliens" Epic]]> Song and dance man Ne-Yo joins up with the cast for the alien war Battle: Los Angeles. And military lead Aaron Eckhart tells Sci-Fi Wire it's "like Black Hawk Down meets Alien....very documentary style." With an emphasis on the military.

<![CDATA[The Mystery Of Christopher Nolan's Mirror Bridge. Plus A TV Heroine Resorts To Bondage!]]> Christopher Nolan's Inception is filming in Paris, and there are set pics, plus a super-intriguing description. Plus Liev Schreiber mulls over Wolverine 2, and ScarJo talks The Avengers. Also: Warehouse 13/Eureka clips! And Lost, Fringe, FlashForward and Star Wars spoilers.

Inception:

We brought you the first set pics from Christopher Nolan's new movie, Inception, the other day. Here's another set, showing Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page filming a scene on a bridge in Paris. More pics at the link. [JustJared]

And People Magazine has a description of the scene they were filming:

Monday's scene on the closed set utilized two giant mirrors, each the size of a storefront and slowly rotating and reflecting each other. The leading man – dressed in a grey-green Armani jacket, black trousers and looking very tanned and blond – stood between them, creating a funhouse-mirror effect of a thousand reflections before the mirrors pulled away to reveal him walking the bridge with Ellen Page amid a sea of extras.

An argument develops between them and Page turns violent, shoving him, knocking him down. What followed were shots of the extras, standing as still as statues, as though they were frozen in time.

[People]

And someone got hold of a callsheet, which includes the names of the film's main characters, except for DiCaprio's. Ellen Page plays Ariadne, Joseph Gordon Levitt plays Arthur, Tom Hardy plays Eames, Ken Watanabe plays Saito, Dileep Rao is Yusef, Cillian Murphy is Fischer and Tom Berenger is Browning. And there's a character named COBB,
who has no actor listed. Chances are, he's either a code name for DiCaprio, or he's a computer-generated character. (Oh, and apparently Oliver's Arrow is a fake working title.) [CloneWeb via NolanFans via Slashfilm]

Wolverine 2:

Liev Schreiber says he's open to returning as Sabretooth in this sequel, and he'd love to see how his version of the character became the more animalistic rendition Tyler Mane gave us in X-Men. [MTV]

Iron Man 2:

Scarlett Johansson hints her character, the Black Widow, could be back in the Avengers movie — and could possibly have her own spin-off film as well, if the fans take to her skintight catsuit. Supposedly ScarJo is signed for several movies. [IOL via ComicBookMovie via Comic Book Resources]

Legion:

In a fairly hilarious interview, Paul Bettany talks about the tattoos he wears as the angel Michael:

They actually go all over my body, including my – I don't want to talk about it. The application of those tattoos is a private matter! They developed the sort of typeset. In actual fact [the language] was developed by a man called John Dee, and you'll have to check this but he was a Necromancer and he was apparently in touch with angels and they gave him their language. This actually all says stuff, but you'll have to forgive me because I have about 60 tattoos or more, I think. So I don't know what each of them say, but they say stuff. This one I know says "If you're freeze-framing this film, you're really weird."

And he clarifies that, yes, Michael does lose all his supernatural powers when he clips his own wings, and he also sheds some kind of heavenly obedience collar. And there's a totally awesome fight scene with Gabriel. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Shorts:

Some more details about Robert Rodriguez' latest kids' movie. Apparently James Spader's character, Carbon Black, has two kids: Helvetica Black is a tiny terror, and Cole Black is the leader of a gang of bullies who target our hero, Toe Thompson, mostly by shoving him in trash cans. They live in Black Falls, a company town where everyone works for Carbon Black's firm, and they're all obsessed with upgrading the mysterious all-purpose product that Black Box Industries makes. Until one day, the rainbow wish-granting rock descends from space. [Yahoo! News]

Battle: Los Angeles:

The mayors of Shreveport and Bossier City, LA will hold a press conference today to discuss the location filming of this alien invasion film. For now, though, Shreveport director of film, media and entertainment Arlena Acree says the movie includes explosions, battleground scenes, car chases, crashes, smoke, helicopters, and street closures. "This is the first project where we have been attacked by aliens," she says of Shreveport. [Shreveport Times]

Twilight: Eclipse:

The third movie has started filming, and a press release lists the entire supporting cast. And no, the part about there being an actor named BooBoo isn't a typo:

Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria, Xavier Samuel as Riley, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Maria, Jack Huston as Royce King, Julia Jones as Leah, BooBoo Stewart as Seth, and Jodelle Ferland as Bree. Also continuing in the saga as The Cullen Family are Ashley Greene as Alice, Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Kellan Lutz as Emmett, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, and Jackson Rathbone as Jasper. Billy Burke also returns as Charlie Swan.

[L.A. Times]

Lost:

John Hawkes (Deadwood) is joining the cast as Lennon, the scruffy, edge spokesperson and translator for a foreign corporation who's more powerful than you'd guess from his position. (We posted the casting call for this role the other day.) [THR]

Warehouse 13:

Bondage and games of possum, in this clip from next Tuesday's episode, "Duped":

Supernatural:

Creator Eric Kripke says we'll never learn how Ruby's demon knife got its powers, because a little mystery is good. But we will see the magical kill-anything Colt pistol again — it pops up early in the season, and then plays a major part in episode ten. The Colt is the Winchester boys' best chance at shooting Lucifer in the face. And there's always a possibility Jeffrey Dean Morgan might pop up again at some point. [EW]

Fringe:

We already showed you this season two poster, but now here it is in ridiculously high resolution. Click to enlarge. [Fringe Television]

Oh, and speaking of clues, a whole new set of cast pics for season two includes a pic of Peter where his shadow looks different than everyone else's. [Fringe Television]

FlashForward:

This show's future-glimpsing premise is summed up, in one of the ugliest posters I've ever seen. Gah! [TVOvermind via SpoilerTV]

Eureka:

Here's a new clip from tomorrow night's episode, "Shower The People," featuring guest star Billy Campbell:

Smallville:

A pretty cool twist, involving Chloe, will take place within the first ten episodes of the new season. [EW]

Star Wars: Clone Wars:

Things get a bit darker in the second season, says Dave Filoni:

We have the rise of the bounty hunters entering the war - bringing in a lot of chaos and a whole new set of problems for Anakin and Obi-Wan.

And we'll start to see the seeds of Anakin's turn to the dark side, but we'll also see more of his heroism and the fact that he could have been the saviour of the galaxy. Also, we'll discover more of Obi-Wan's past. [Wired]

<![CDATA[Feige Talks Iron Man 2, Rodriguez Talks Predators, And Cameron Lets His Giant Gun Do The Talking]]> Today's spoilers include an Avatar set pic, an Iron Man 2 set report, and major Predators dirt. Michelle Rodriguez and Bridget Moynihan join Battle: L.A. Plus New Moon nudity, Gamer explosions, G.I. Joe nano-wackiness, and Splice dysfunctionality. And Fringe/Lost casting!

Iron Man 2:

IGN has the same set visit report Marvel.com had earlier, but with a couple extra details. Like Vanko aka Whiplash has daddy issues just like Tony Stark — his father was a famous scientist named Anton.) And it turns out that in addition to coming out as Iron Man, Tony Stark has been trying to revive the Stark Expo his dad started, and use it to promote new energy sources. And Tony's trying to control his own technology and only use it for public benefit.

When we catch up to him six months after the first movie, things are just starting to go to hell. Halfway through the sequel, Tony hits "rock bottom," which doesn't have anything to do with alcohol, but is more related to trying to do everything and losing control over it all. Tony's imperious, I-can-do-it-all-myself attitude will cause tension with Pepper and Rhodey.

Also, Tony's workshop included a German passport, newspaper articles, a map of Antarctica, and a diagram of Captain America's shield. And there were several boxes marked "Project Pegasus," which is an energy project in the Marvel Universe that often attracts supervillain involvement. [IGN]

Avatar:

Here's a new production photo showing James Cameron on the set of his space mega-movie, tinkering with one of his huge guns. A bigger version is in the new issue of Empire Magazine, and on Empire's site. And there's also a piece of concept art at Slashfilm, which looks a bit familiar to me but may actually be new. [Empire via Slashfilm]

Predators:

Robert Rodriguez confirms this movie takes place on an alien planet, and says he hopes Arnold Schwarzenegger could come back, at least for a cameo. And he says the movie's title has a double meaning:

the predators, are you talking about the creatures or are you talking about this group of humans that are actually going in there against them. Are they going to kill each other off if there were no predators?

[MTV]

G.I. Joe:

ComingSoon/SuperheroHype visited the set of this movie and observed the filming of the scene where Duke carries the Baroness to safety, though explosions, gunfire and jets of water shooting up into the damaged MARS base. And producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura explains exactly what's the deal with those nanotech-enhanced Vipers:

One of the experimentations that they're doing in this movie is on this human experimentation and can they make you not have no fear, have no hesitation of orders, increased endurance and things like that. One of the things that The Doctor character in this movie is [doing is] he's experimenting on these Vipers and Neo Vipers too see how invulnerable you can make them.

And it sounds like Snake Eyes has a scene where he walks on his fingertips. [SuperheroHype]

Splice:

Stargate's David Hewlett says his character doesn't do much in this movie, but "he's definitely a thorn in our heroes' side." And he says the movie, which director Vincenzo Natali has described as "The Bonnie and Clyde of genetics," is going to push the boundaries of both science fiction and good taste. The sexy human-animal hybrid film is very dark, and so shocking it's almost a comedy, but not quite. "It almost mimics a dysfunctional family. It touches on religion, sex, aging, the quest to be the first."[Sci Fi Pi]

New Moon:

The movie whose main selling point seems to be large amounts of shirtlessness will have a nude scene. Actor Jamie Campbell-Bowers, who plays one of the Volturi, says they just added a scene where he, Michael Sheen and Christopher Heyerdahl sit around naked for a few minutes. [Access Hollywood]

Gamer:

Here are a few new stills from this deadly-video-game epic. W00t. More at the link. [Slice Of SciFi]

Battle: Los Angeles:

The exciting alien invasion movie, which substitutes Baton Rogue for the City of Angels, cast three more stars alongside Marine Sergeant Aaron Eckhart. Michelle Rodriguez will play Cpl. Adriana Santos, a member of a radio battalion. Michael Pena plays the father of a little boy the marines find along the way. And Bridget Moynihan plays a veterinarian. (And no, I don't know why you'd need a veterinarian when fighting alien invaders. Maybe they're cat people? One can but hope.) [Hollywood Reporter]

Lost:

It's official (if you believe unnamed sources, anyway) — Dominic Monaghan will be back. And he'll be in at least three episodes. [E! Online]

Fringe:

Yay! Here's our first glimpse of season two. Although it may be fake, since most of the clips are old. What do you think?

Also, a new season two poster (plus matching banner) includes a few clues. Like a leaf, a six-fingered handprint and a seahorse. Click on the link for more details about where these show up in the poster. [Fringe Bloggers]

And there's a new casting call. Episode 2x05 features Dr. Nayak, an East Indian or Middle Eastern doctor, who's sort of a Jekyll/Hyde character. He's dedicated his life to his work, but he's hiding a deep-seated addiction.[SpoilerTV]

Warehouse 13:

Leena, the lovely B&B owner, has some secrets of her own, and she turns up in four more episodes this season — including the finale, which she figures in prominently. [TV Guide]

And here are some pics from episode seven, "Implosion." Gun-totin' Artie! [SpoilerTV]

<![CDATA[Battle: Los Angeles Sets Up Alien-Destroyed L.A. In Shreveport, Louisiana]]> Shreveport is getting all the big movies these days, and in September Aaron Eckhart will be leading a Marine platoon to repel an alien invasion, defending Shreveport-disguised-as-Los-Angeles in the low-budget Battle: Los Angeles. The local mayor is thrilled to show off the lovely battlezone. "We look forward to the battle in our 'LA'," he tells reporters. [Shreveport Times]

<![CDATA[Aaron Eckhart Leaves Gotham To Battle Aliens In LA]]> No more dealing with street rats and common thieves for Harvey Dent. Batman's White Knight has been cast in the in the scifi thriller Battle: Los Angeles - Eckhart is playing the leader of a platoon fighting an army of invading aliens in sunny California.

The film is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman who is best known for his work in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. It sounds like a big budgeted epic alien war film, and so be it I say. The world could use a short reprise from all the zombie attacks and apocalyptic weather of doom scenarios. Let's settle down for some good old fashioned alien attacks.

Chris Bertolini who adapted the pretty graphic The General's Daughter is writing Battle which takes place right in the heart of LA. Eckhart and his brave soldiers are the final line of defense between alien and human (why they decided to go into LA first I have no idea).

<![CDATA[Battle: Los Angeles Shows New Way For Directors To Get Jobs]]> If the idea of running around Los Angeles, armed, dangerous and the one best, last hope against an oncoming alien invasion sounds good to you, then there are probably some video games that you should check out. But if you're somehow allergic to video games but still feel the urge, then chances are upcoming movie Battle: Los Angeles is exactly what you're looking for.

The movie - possibly to be directed by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning's Jonathan Liebesman, who's currently in talks with Columbia Pictures about the project - centers around a platoon of US Marines defending LA from an alien invasion. Leibesman's potential involvement in the project comes after he made an audition tape for the producers showing just how much he wanted to make the movie:

Liebesman beat out several other prospects for the job by making a whiz-bang presentation that showed his specific vision and passion for the project, described as "Black Hawk Down" meets "Independence Day."

In August, Liebesman went out to locations in Santa Monica and downtown Los Angeles, shooting sequences and plates, and adding CGI aliens. He also created a pre-viz alien invasion sequence.

So now you all know how to land your own movie deal: Start learning how to use iMovie right now, and in six months, you too could be heading up your SF franchise as a major studio!

<![CDATA[It's Finally L.A.'s Turn To Get Crushed]]> We were wondering what would replace plague movies and dystopian futures as the next trend in movies, and it's looking like we have our answer: alien invasions and space battles. On the heels of Universal greenlighting Earth vs. Moon, Columbia Pictures is making Battle: Los Angeles, based on a spec script from Chris Bertolini (The General's Daughter). Battle: L.A. is about "a Marine platoon's encounter with an alien invasion on the streets of L.A.," and it'll have a low price tag, similar to Cloverfield.
