Hader is a "normal-dude made good"... he was discovered after years of being a goofy guy with a good set of pipes. He's the best voice-actor on SNL next to Daryl Hammond, and Hader's Vincent Price is 'larious.
Good for him.
@Evil Tortie's Mom: R.O.A.C.H.: Until now, I never envisioned my Vincent Price as a world-weary, put-upon Hollywood relic who is the only sane voice in a madhouse of mid-century meat-puppets, trying to film a tossaway holiday special for a little pocket money. The pathos should be mined for the gold it's worth.
@Meredith Woerner: We just read the comments and pretend we understand what you guys are talking about :-P Like it whenever you describe what's in the vids, that helps a lot...
@Meredith Woerner: Thanks for trying Meredith we do appreciate your efforts.
NBC has fallen on hard times you would think that any online advertising would be a boon to them. I tried and tried to find clips of Conan's last week on the air (I was out of town and forgot to DVR) and couldn't find any that would play in my Region.
OT: I hate the NBC streamer. After the video is done you can't stop the player from blasting you with other videos without hitting the browser back button.
Let me get this straight, you're saying: "Don't tell me I'm sexy when I take my glasses off!" and at the same time "don't tell me I'm sexy when I leave my glasses on!"
Next think you'll know, you'll start yelling at me for shouting out "Natalie Portman!" when we make love. There's just no satisfying you.
While we're at it, could we do away with the stereotype that all animated redheaded girls WILL have green eyes? The concentration of recessive genes you'd need to blend together to get that result boggles the mind.
I'm with you a hundred percent Meredith, but...uh...do we have to do away with the stereotype? I mean, can't we just do away with the whole "you need to take your glasses off and let your hair down to be pretty" part and just agree that librarians are sexy?
Gals with glasses - hell, ALL people with glasses - need to be told just how attractive glasses can be. And JUST HOW DISAPPOINTING it can be to do the "glasses off - head shake" thing to signify transition from Ugly Duckling to Beautiful Swan.
'Cause after spending time at duck ponds, the ducks are sweet and friendly and cute - the swans are not nearly so attractive and will frickin' attack you.
And I appear to be overextending the metaphor somethin' fierce.
I didn't need glasses until I went to library school, so I think it's an evil plot by some mysterious cabal to fashion reality to fit these insiduous expectations. Or I saw one too many PowerPoint presentations.
Can we maybe avoid the "every movie needs to have a romantic sideplot thrust (thrust, I say!) into it" stereotype as well? Please? Isn't Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs a good enough story without that?
This is one of my major movie pet peeves. I’m not big into romance to begin with so I may be a bit biased, but sometimes I just want to enjoy a good story without all the mushy stuff.
Plus I’ve found that it’s usually the female characters who suffer the most when romance is added. Male characters get to find love, discover themselves and have a kickass adventure while getting a man is usually the be all and end all of a female character’s journey (usually this is the case, my favourite exceptions are any female character written by Terry Pratchett and the Alien movies).
@RandomFrequentFlierDent: which is just one small reason why Terry Pratchett is one of my favorite authors (on top of the amazingly clever satire, humor, and snarky optimism)

Network TV is sucking hard this century.

io9: Hey, do you know something cool about this project?
Bill Hader: No, I don't know.

In a case of synchronicity, read the comments to a recent NPR story about the Library Drill Team Championships at ALA. The story uses the stereotype as a entry into the actual wonderful weird world of actual librarians.
