Eduardo Sánchez wants to make his own sequel to the mockumentary, and simply pretend that Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 never happened.

While speaking with Toronto Star co-director Sánchez, who worked with Daniel Myrick, hinted that he and his partner may be ready to get back into the fake documentary business, as long as we all just ignore Blair Witch 2.

They're now at the point where they're ready to do a Blair Witch 3, once again sharing writing and directing. They'd pick up from where the original left off, pretending Blair Witch 2 never happened. The duo recently went on a drive through their original Blair Witch haunts, about a half hour from Sánchez's Maryland home, looking for inspiration.

The director even hopes to bring back the original actors, Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams, but in smaller roles. The project is about to be pitched to Lionsgate, I'd actually love to see these two tackle this subject matter again. Even though it was a lot of hype, what ideas they did come up with were very scary.

<![CDATA[God Joins Supernatural's Apocalyptic Battle, Plus More Sexy Images from Gamer]]> Supernatural's apocalypse gets a few new players, including the Four Horsemen and God. Gamer gets a few more bikini-clad pictures, and Kick-Ass gets an animated sequence. Plus, The Vampire's Assistant, Stargate Universe, The Host 2, FlashForward, Fringe, and Defying Gravity.

Kick-Ass

This one might be a spoiler for the comic book as well: John Romita Jr., who does the artwork for the Kick-Ass comic, contributed artwork for an animated sequence. Romita explains that, in the film, Nic Cage's character Big Daddy has drawn a comic book to commemorate his vigilante adventures. At one point in the film, Big Daddy is hauled off to prison and his partner discovers the comic, and when he opens it, the animation sequence begins, revealing the origin of Big Daddy. [MTV]

Also, Kick-Ass has finally gotten a release date. Expect it in theaters April 16th, 2010. [/Film]

IGN has a clip that reveals the socioeconomic woes in Gamer, and below are interviews with the cast:

Plus, a few more sexy images:

Supernatural

Executive producer Eric Kripke says that God Himself (or Herself) will enter the apocalyptic battle at some point late in the season, although he's mum on the how and the who's-going-to-play Him (or Her). Until then, it's going to be all-out Armageddon; it's 2014 and the Croation virus has spread across the world, Sarah Palin is president of the United States, and the hunters live in the woods, trying to protect the survivors. Castiel has now been cut off from heaven and as his powers start to fade, he becomes more and more in touch with his humanity — with sometimes funny, sometimes poignant results. As we mentioned before, Ellen, Jo, Rufus, and Chuck will all appear this season, and there's a chance we'll see Papa Winchester as well, but only if Jeffrey Dean Morgan is available. And the nature of Titus Welliver's role has been revealed: he'll be playing one of the muscle-car-driving Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. [TV Guide Magazine]

The Vampire's Assistant

We get a fresh poster with a fresh grave for the Cirque Du Freak movie:

The Blair Witch Sequel

Eduardo Sanchez, who directed the original Blair Witch film, says the sequel will probably be set rough 15 years after the characters in the original film disappeared. [IGN]

The Host 2

This monster movie prequel is an eco-horror take based on the 2003 Cheonggyecheon stream restoration, during which a highway was removed and the river stream left nearly dry. The movie will be set during the 2003 project and will feature multiple monsters, including the fellow below:

[ShockTillYouDrop]

Stargate Universe

In episode 17, "Lost," we will see a young Ronald Greer and his father Reginald in flashbacks. Reginald was once a proud military man, but his service in the Gulf War left him with severe PTSD, and he suffers from both mental and physical illness. He is quiet and frightening, and he mistreats Ronald because he believes that he is preparing him for the cruelties of life. Ronald's mother Angela is, by contrast, strong and loving, and she stays with Reginald because she blames the war for his behavior and believes she is the only person who will care for him. Angela's love also helps Ronald grow into a strong and intense young man, one who single-handedly rescues both of his parents from a burning house. [Spoiler TV]

Fringe

The birthday Walter and company will be celebrating in the season premiere is Peter's. [Fringe Television]

Paul

Seth Rogen just finished filming for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's Paul, where he plays an alien who befriends two scifi geeks. He wore a motion capture during filming, so even he doesn't know what his alien avatar will look like on screen. [MTV]

FlashForward

Here's the first appearance of Dominic Monaghan's character, Simon:

[Lyly Ford]

Defying Gravity

New promo images come from the eighth episode, "Love, Honor, Obey:"

[Spoiler TV]

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

The latest round of images feature Lex Luthor, who, as President of the United States, declares Superman and Batman enemies of the state and recruits other superheroes to hunt them down. When that fails, Luthor and his classic mecha suit get in on the action:

<![CDATA[Blair Witch 3: Find Out What Happened To Those Damn Kids]]> The Blair Witch Project's creators are chatting about the possibility for another try at reviving the dead franchise. The good news: they ditched the third film's original Crucible-esque premise. The bad news: those zany campers are back.

First the creators mulled around the idea for a 1700s-set prequel. Thank goodness creators Eduardo Sanchez and Daniel Myrick had the smarts to ditch that idea. In an interview with BBC the two discussed their Plan B: revealing what happened to the yelly kids from the first film.

Ideally, each Blair Witch film would be a completely different kind of movie. We've thought about doing a film that takes place in the late 1700s and looks like a [Stanley] Kubrick movie with gritty looking people and lighting.

But now, we're thinking about going back and and seeing what happened directly after the first film finished.

I think it will have some kind of video element in it, but it won't be a first person hand-held movie.

No shaky cam? Then why do I fear it will be mockumentary-style anyway? Not to be a killjoy because I enjoyed the first movie when it was first released, but is there anyone who really needs to know what happened to those kids? I'm pretty sure it went like this: they died, the end. Still it's gotta be better than the second film.

<![CDATA[Wait, They Want To Put More Camera Confessionals Into Blair Witch?]]> The one thing I didn't think the The Blair Witch Project needed was more camera talky time. Still, they're planning to release never-before-seen footage of poetry readings and confessionals.

So what didn't this stuff make the cut in the movie's original release? In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, directors Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez's revealed that there was a poetry jam session that ended up on the cutting room floor along with one more Mike confessional.

There’s a great confessional with Mike that didn’t make the movie. He also had this great scene in the woods where he lost his mind, started punching trees, it was really hardcore,” says Myrick. “There’s a really cool poetry reading scene in the hotel they spend the night in where Josh and Mike are duelling with their own poetry. At that point in the film we just had to get them into the woods, so as cool as it was it had to go. They shot so much cool stuff and they rolled on everything. I think we could put together at least another hour of really, really solid footage.

So a poetry duel — yeah, I'm not really seeing it. Hopefully, since it is a witch movie, they'll bust out a little "Top That." God knows I'll end up watching all the new footage, some of which is on Rotten Tomatoes right now, because (and here's my lame confession) I had a huge crush on Mike, and I have a soft spot for the 90s trend of fake documentaries.

<![CDATA[Blair Witch Meets Event Horizon?]]> blair-horizon.jpgThe brain-cracking genre mashups that will define the future of science fiction aren't necessarily coming out of Hollywood. Instead, they're hatching in Richmond, Virginia, judging from this just-posted casting call:
Logline: The Blair Witch meets Event Horizon. Tag Line: Finite Space, Infinite Power

A director's equipment-clad crew of nonconformist semi-pros discover a film camera deserted on location, further investigation turns up footage that would make a horror director proud. The photon sphere surrounding the camera is accompanied by an unearthly presence. The entity channels power through the creative process to lure crew members into situations, situations they may not escape...

This film is shooting in Richmond in October and November, with Rob Byrne directing. There's contact info online, for any Virginians who fancy playing a "hyper sorority rich girl" or an "eclectic artsy director." Good times!
