    Wait...I thought our favorite cartoon was a meld between Futurama and the combined DCAU, on the basis that they're, you know, good.

    Excellent. I thought I'd missed the return last week. This is a great, great show that realizes Batman hasn't survived 70 years being a humorless nutjob (unlike the post-Miller fanboys who can't imagine another way).

    @NotArthurPDragon:
    Yeah...actually he kinda _did_ survive 70 years by being a humorless nutjob. But for Miller bringing the dark _back_, Batman would have become increasingly irrelevent in the last 20 years of comic-bookdom.

    What's wrong with "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" can be summed up with the following:

    You know Batman needs? A party hat.

    No. No he does *not*.

    Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park made being an archaeologist very cool. Also Rachel Weisz (also known as the crush of every ivy league college student everywhere) in the Mummy series.

    @Justin Cho: Dr. Grant was not an archaeologist. He was a paleontologist. Archaeologists look for artifacts and remains pertaining to human beings. Paleontologists look for the remains of extinct animals such as dinosaurs.

    The archaeologist from "Crusade".

    The guy from "Forbidden Planet", with the bad id.

    There's also Alex Benedict and Chase Kolpath, from Jack McDevitt's books. 2005's Seeker even won a Nebula.

    Insect-themed heroes are great, but it would have been a better episode if Wil just played himself -- as a superhero.

    Is it so wrong that I just want a Wil Wheaton action figure -- complete with deadly blogger grip!

    How is this seriously any different from the pseudo-techno The Batman, or the outright techno of Batman Beyond?

    Man, we really need a new super hero. How about a really dark and gritty The Question detective cartoon?
