Preproduction is about to begin, but it looks like we won't be seeing the hour-long drama until 2012. But it sounds like there's an actor in the running for the role of bounty hunter Boba Fett. When asked whether Daniel Logan, who portrayed the young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones, might reprise the role, Sansweet indicated that there has been some talk on that front:

A couple of years ago Rick McCallum said that he would consider it, and I would expect news from Daniel's camp in the not-too-distant future.

<![CDATA[Humanity's Comedy Future Is Emotion-Free]]> The humanity of the year 3034 has lost the ability to feel emotion, and is full of quasi-familiar faces like Babylon 5's Claudia Christian and Boba Fett himself, Jeremy Bulloch. Plus, it's under attack from aliens who want to save the universe from the unstoppable human menace. A terrifying glimpse into our future, or the start of a set-up for a new TV comedy? Hint: Claudia Christian was a clue.

The show, Starhyke, was filmed in the UK in 2004, but it's taken over four years to add all the special effects needed for all six episodes - in part because of the show's $1.3million for the entire season (compared with Heroes $4million per episode, for example) - and the show still hasn't found a channel to call home yet.

That doesn't mean that no-one'll see it: the show has its world premiere tomorrow in Bristol's Cinema De Lux to 600 sci-fi fans. The rest of us can wait for the promised announcement of a TV premiere next year, followed by a DVD release.

<![CDATA[Star Wars Miniatures Sneak Preview: Mandalore the Ultimate]]> He's a legendary figure in Star Wars mythology, a brutal military strategist who lead the Mandalorians to galactic infamy in the days of the Old Republic. With his Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, Mandalore the Ultimate had a hand in shaping the galaxy we all came to know and love. Wizards of the Coast is releasing a pre-painted miniatures set and a campaign handbook for the Star Wars RPG focused on the exciting Old Republic era, and we've got an exclusive sneak preview of the Mandalore the Ultimate mini, as well as his stat card.

Taking up the mantle of Mandalore the Indomitable after his death at the Battle of Onderon, Mandalore the Ultimate shaped the ragtag Mandalorian warrior clans into a powerful mercenary force. Himself a Taung, the Predator-like alien race that made up the original Mandalorian clans, Mandalore the Ultimate recruited humans and other species to his banner. His decree of uniform armor for his warriors lead to the well-known "Mandalorian Battle Armor" worn by everyone's favorite jet-packed bounty hunter, Boba Fett.

Mandalore the Ultimate's inclusive recruiting strategies are reflected in his "everyone's a Mandalorian" ability. He deals out an impressive 30 damage with brutal speed, attacking up to three times in one turn. Mr. Ultimate is also an effective commander, giving all his troops a startling amount of battlefield mobility. Knights of the Old Republic booster packs will be released on August 8, while the KotoR campaign book for the Star Wars RPG will come out a few weeks later. The dual release is perfect for fans who have been longing to run a campaign n the Old Republic era. Images by: Wizards of the Coast.

<![CDATA[The Greatest Art Featuring 6 Iconic Scifi Villains]]> Darth Vader rocks out with the rest of the original Star Wars cast in this awesome painting by Hugh Fleming. Vader has starred in more than his fair share of offbeat and arresting artworks, but he's not alone — other classic science fiction villains have also inspired some provocative and clever art, from graffiti to gallery shows. We've gathered the wildest and most exciting art featuring Darth Vader, the Borg, the Daleks, Skeletor, Megatron and Godzilla.

Darth Vader

Darth Vader is such a rockin' mega-villain, it took two people to play him in the original Star Wars: David Prowse for the body, and James Earl Jones for the voice. But really, it's taken an army of artists, muralists, stencilographers, calligraphers, graffiti artists and conceptual artists to do justice to the Dark Lord of the Sith. Plus, some awesome artists have paid tribute to Boba Fett, Stormtroopers and Darth Maul.

Godzilla

Godzilla may have started off as a metaphor for nuclear devastation, but he's become an amazingly versatile symbol over the years. Besides starring in dozens of movies, he's become a touchstone for artists everywhere. He's a parade float in Japan, and Susan Bartley, a middle-aged woman in the Midwest has been painting Godzillas for years.

The Daleks

It's no wonder the Daleks rule the street art and graffiti world — they have sleek awesome lines, and one of the most famous street artists in the world is called Dalek (the creator of those awesome space monkeys.) Plus, the Daleks, from England's Doctor Who, are just so kick-ass.

skeletorthumb.jpg

Skeletor

Skeletor, from He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, is like a Heavy Metal icon, reigning over Castle Grayskull with his rocker-dude cloak and skull face. His unmistakable scowl has turned up on walls in the Netherlands and South America, and all over the United States.

megatronthumb.jpg

Megatron

Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons from the Transformers, stands tall on murals all over the world, declaring his intent to conquer Belgium AND Venezuela. And when they wanted something cool to paint on a kids' bedroom wall in Scrubs, who did they paint? Megatron, duh. Not to mention that Megatron knows how to party.

borgthumb.jpg

The Borg

The Borg, from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager, may be evil galaxy-assimilating hive mind, but they're also hella cool looking. And they represent the cyborg aesthetic, complete with cool body mods, taken to its furthest extent. Artists have been inspired by the Borg to create everything from Steampunk eyepieces to Venetian masks to My Pretty Ponies.

<![CDATA[Live-Action Star Wars TV Will Satisfy Your Boba Fettish]]> Everybody's favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett will have a starring role in the new Star Wars TV series, which takes place between the trilogies. Fett, who was a minor action figure-y character in the original trilogy, appeared as a kid in the prequels when his dad was cloned into a shiny white army. So now we get to see him mature and develop into a well-rounded adult. Or not. So when do we get to see this episodic masterpiece?

Like so many things, it depends on the writers. Four artists are working on designs for the series, but the writers' strike has delayed everything else. But don't despair: George Lucas hopes to make his own deal with the writers, similar to Dave Letterman's, which might let the show hit its target start date of late 2009. [The Force]
