Thing is, he really, honestly, is a good actor - he can turn in subtle, even under Branagh (I mean, the man had to deliver *tennis balls* to the king, and he didn't twitch an eyebrow...) but he knows what his public persona is these days, and plays to it ... and has fun doing it.

He was my favorite part of that horrible Brannagh film Much ado. This is inspired casting.
