I'm not a big fan the recent "Retreat". The idea of Scooby Gang wielding machine guns and rocket launchers is a little ridiculous, but facing a modern army (tanks and all) with them is just weird.
I would love another spinoff on television. A Giles or Faith centered show would kick ass.

It was kind of boring and didn't feel like a continuation of the t.v. series.
Also they keep bringing back old characters and villains I had totally forgotten about which got confusing. #buffythevampireslayer

Troubled Past including brushes with the law? Faith? Check. Echo? Check.
Recent death of a very significant male influence which changed her life substantially? Faith? Check (mayor) Echo? Check (boyfriend)
Strong desire to run away and just forget the past?
Check. Check.
Impulsive and somewhat reckless? Creative - thinks outside the box? Check. Check.
Close relationship with evil mastermind?
Check. Check.
I think it's OBVIOUS that the Dollhouse is where Faith went for her recuperation. Just look at all the similarities - and heck, the two characters even LOOK alike. You can't tell me that is just coincidence.
(I am pretty sure Angel was getting a pretty large 'referral fee' for all the troubled people he sent to Adele. All those people traumatized by demonic violence who couldn't deal with reality as they suddenly discovered it to be. The fees are the only way to explain how he was able to afford the upkeep/taxes/utilities to maintain an entire hotel in LA) #buffythevampireslayer

This is a bad idea.
Let Buffy end. The series had a premise, a philosophy, and reached the full arc of every important character by the end of season 6. Everything since then has only detracted from the brilliance of the first five seasons. #buffythevampireslayer

And Season 8 is by far the least interesting thing Joss Whedon has done.
Whedon's a genius, and Buffy was amazing, but it's sad to see him, and fans, dwelling on a property that has long passed its expiry date. #buffythevampireslayer

Motion comics are stupid. Plus how are they even remotely a real project? All he needs is some animators (and not very good ones) and he can wash his hands of it. Its already written.
I thought you meant that he was actually going to film a web centric version of season 8. Which would suck on a whole different level.
A. I've already said multiple times i'd rather see new Whedon than recycled Whedon.
B. The season 8 comics weren't that great. I followed the show religiously and I've got to say I was a bit lost when season 8 started. Lesbian Buffy would be a nice (but weird) touch on screen. #buffythevampireslayer

Then on top of that I hate the fact that they always get referred to as "new". Making Wolverine sing and dance doesn't change the fact that I read the comic a year ago. #buffythevampireslayer

Buffy is sucsesful, it made it to the end. The spin off was just as popular. It brought Vamps and monsters back onto the scene and in a good way (not like this twishite)!! And most of the characters were left open for a plausable return!!
I cant see any studio turning down this cash cow OR giving it any less than a 5 season contract. The DVD'S and videos made a packet alone. The merch...I dont wanna think!!!!
It just seems like a good time to strike again while the Twilight (ahem) iron is hot! #buffythevampireslayer

That said, the series really needed a remake. It could've been so much better with a larger budget and modern tech. Some of it is really dated, like the special effects during Julie's conversion, which were rather humorous in spots rather than being frightening (The giant iguana? Maybe if it had whipped out it's giant double penis . . .) Anyway, I assume this remake will be loosely based on the series, so I'm expecting lots of flash and a dumbed-down plot.

The Twilight Zone was written in the late 1950s and early 60s. TV was still a novelty and TV writers weren't sure how subtle they could be with it yet. And the audience was still getting a grasp of TV drama. By the time Johnson created V, TV had been around for 30 years, viewers were used to it, and TV writers were beginning to experiment with realistic dialog and subtle themes. Johnson wrote V as if he were writing it for a the original Twilight Zone. His Jewish character practically screams, "These aliens remind me of Poland in 1939, when the Nazis took over. Take special note of the parallels that Kenny Johnson has included such as their swastika style logo, uniforms, and rounding up of scientists. I am here as a Jewish character to remind you of the Holocaust. Remember the Holocaust?" It was dreck. Entertaining and high minded dreck but still dreck. The remake can't be lamer than the original. It can equal it but it can't be worse. #v
