Griffith's writing, if The Blue Place is anything to go by, is very good. I didn't think that The Blue Place was entirely satisfying in a plot-mechanical sense, but she communicated the usual thriller-protagonist "I am such a badass" thinking in an imaginative fashion.

I ran into the same problem creating a "Mars Blimp" for a roleplaying game book -- the damned thing had a crew of four and was as big as the Hindenburg. Until Mars gets more atmosphere, I don't think anybody will be flying there.
