Diedrich Bader has done so many good comedies like the Drew Carey Show and The Beverly Hillbillies I can't take him seriously has Batman. #batmanthebraveandthebold

"Criminals are a superstitious cowardly lot," Batman. Batman has always had a wide variety of weapons in his war on crime. Sure he's a scientist but he also uses psychology, mythic symbolism, and a certain theatricality. Why should he be above magic and mysticism if the mission calls for it? As Adam Drew posted -- "Right tool for the right job." #batmanthebraveandthebold

    Two things:
1): I had no idea that "Skeleton Dance" was the first Silly Symphony

2): If I was a kid in 1929, this would have blown my mind. It's like a medieval plague painting come to life. #horror

Homer Simpson: I share your xylophobia!

Lisa Simpson: No, Dad, you mean "xenophobia". Xylophobia would be the fear of xylophones.

Homer Simpson: I *am* afraid of xylophones. It's the music you hear when skeletons are dancing! #horror

This is great Disney. Also good, and slightly more spooky, "Night on Bald Mountain" in "Fantasia" by Mussorsky. Absolutely terrifying when you are 8 or 9. #horror

Ub Iwerks is the master of vintage animation and this is still one of my favorites from him. I still get chills thinking of the Pin Cushion Man from his "Balloon Land" cartoon.

Also, fans of this wonderful piece will appreciate Iwerks' 1937 piece, "Skeleton Frolic" which is basically an extended and colorized version of "Skeleton Dance" #horror

Wow...flashbacks to watching the old cartoons on the Disney Channel back in the 80s. That was before it became the High School Montana Suite Life Channel.

I love this short. Too cute.

It makes me pine for the olden times when they'd show short cartoons with every movie... #horror
