I'm looking at that picture and I can sorta see an angry parrot...or rabbit. Maybe I should have checked if I had regular flu or swine flu. And stayed home.
Nice...whilst im on here. What is with the grey/black text system. Ive got bad eyesight as it is. I cant read fuck all. Secondly, whats with the star system, it seems anyone with a star is the elite....well ive been on this site for almost a year and my opinions have counted for something before, ive got a few followers and some cool friends. But I never get a reply now because im stuck way back in the grey corner with the newbies and Trolls. And I find it hard to put my input into anyones posts because I cant read the text!! Just becuse someone has a star and black text next to their name doesnt mean i want to coment on their post. It might be an unitresting post in my opinion, someones in grey might be better...but because i cant see it properly, it doesnt count for shit!
Love the new layout io9....but help me out here. Im an oldie and goldie with bad eyesight and the need for a star!!
@CoffinDodger (If the typos crap. Blame my...: In case you missed it, they just revamped the whole comment system last week. Starred commenters are the shiznet now, and are supposed to help promote new commentors.
A question for the site: should featured comments be more like featured discussions or threads? What I mean is, a featured comment goes to black, but some replies are grey regardless of who replies and so you won't see whole the whole discussion unless you click "show all comments". I've found myself replying only to realize someone else said it first, but I didn't see it because it was not shown. Seems like once the main comment becomes featured, the whole thread should be, too. Just a thought.
@CoffinDodger (If the typos crap. Blame my...: TemporalSword seems to have answered your question. Are you running Firefox? Lifehacker has a pretty cool Greasemonkey script that auto expands all comments, changes font colors, and some other simple things. It'll help with the eyesight at least.
I run it when I am at home, and not on my blasted IE enabled work computer.
@BullLifter: This goes to everyone whos answered this thread. Cheers. I'll try the greasemonkey trick considering ive got Firefox. That said...I was away on my 2 year wedding Anniversary, which was (sorry io9), waaaay more important than the change on here at the time. But when I came back and logged in, I had completly missed the section on the revamp and walked into a world of confusion and head scratching. I think im on the ball now. But could someone explain the star system? Is it a star for the quality of the post or the quality of the person involved.?
@CoffinDodger (If the typos crap. Blame my...: the stars were originally based on how many people were following you, so while being around for a while helps get you more exposure it doesn't necessarily mean people are interested in what you have to say enough to follow you. now i think they are awarded by admins (the elite of the elite) for especially clever comments.
my major critique, other than the backflips i have to do just to get the site to work now, is that comments cannot be demoted, only promoted.

"Suns" in a plural sense is incorrect and the word itself is not being used properly. The image is showing other stars, not "Suns".
Sheesh..
