    whoah. i initially read this as them doing a "Midnighter" show. as in the angry, dark, very hot, very gay wildstorm superhero.

    i would totally watch that show. not sure about this one, tho.

    Heroes is crimefighting o_o
    I mean, I know parkmans a policeman, but that hardly makes it crimefighting.
    Its a scifi (/fantasy) drama.

    Are the novels better than this sounds? Getting super powers from being born at midnight seems even more absurd than the usual origin story.

    I don't have enough faith in NBC to pull this off, but I might check this out, simply because the premise is similar to Persona 3 (which was excellent, so leaves me some hope for the transition from writing to visuality).

    But, in the end it will probably fizzle like Heroes.

    @zhalfim: would not doubt it.they are alerady screwing the day one show.heroes is way downhill but still fun to watch i guess.

    It's a crime Justice League Unlimited didn't survive long enough to show the near apocalypse of 09. Bet it would have been good.

    No, the embargo started with Batman Begins, trickled down through The Batman, and then ended up at JLU and Teen Titans.


    Batman Begins used Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul, so those two characters were off-limits for _everyone_ (note that neither have ever appeared in The Batman). The Batman got second dibs, and any villains that they might want to use were pretty much off-limits for JLU and TT. The only two exceptions at that point were Batman (JLU got to use him) and Robin (TT could still keep him)...though JLU cheated the embargo by putting Nightwing in silhouette for one shot.

    Man... Blue Gender. I remember seeing one ep of that back in 2001, and thinking, "These monsters very blatantly have vaginas for mouths." I stopped watching after that.

    @jbq: OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY FORGOT I dunno. If people have that strong of an attachment to sci-fi set in a very specific year, then, uh, more power to them.
