    I vote for shaking up the Twilight franchise: Roman Polanski (hey, at least allow him set-visiting privileges) or Larry Clark.

    Golden Compass was a good movie, that i thoroughly enjoyed. I think its failure to be box office gold had more to do with crazy religious types causing a ruffle over it. I had three separate family members call me up and ask me if I planned on seeing the heresy of the "golden compass."


    I told them I read the books, loved them, and would be seeing the movie. They indicated that I was likely going to burn, but as I have been intimately involved with most of my own exploits, this news did not come as a surprise to me, though I didn't think that reading the compass series as what was going to put me over the edge.

    In my opine, Weitz is actually more compatable for this material than the over-rated H.

    I, like many people outside US, liked The Golden Compass. I liked the actors and the feel of the world. It was much better then Twilight.

    While a failure in the US, The Golden Compass made over 300 million outside the US. Hardly a failure, I'd argue.
